I have a Samsung Pn51D550C1F tv..about a yr old. I have begun to notice when watching 3D programming (cable or blu rays) on the black bars and any black or darks screen I see wavy green and red pixelations all throughout the screen. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it a know issue and can I fix it? I have a 2 yr warranty through Best Buy if this cant be fixed
Thanks for any input |

It's normal, they can always be seen at certain distances (mainly when you get up close), but how much they stand out and can be seen from your viewing distance or whether they seep into the black bars or not, for both 2d and 3d viewing, is dependent on how you have the tv calibrated. For example, these are the settings I often use with my d8000 plasma (depending on the source and how dark it is in my room. Sometimes I will change them, increasing the cell light to 15, decrease the brightness to 54 and setting the gamma to -1):
Mode Movie Cell light 11 contrast 95 brightness 56 sharpness 0 color 49 tint 50G/50R black tone off dynamic off gamma -2 flesh tone -3 edge enhance off motion lighting off xvYcc off color tone warm2 digital noise off mpeg noise off Custom color space Red_r 38 Red_g 5 Red_b 6 Green_r 18 Green_g 45 Green_b 4 Blue_r 2 Blue_g 3 Blue_b 40 Yellow_r 50 Yellow_g 49 Yellow_b 8 Cyan_r 18 Cyan_g 46 Cyan_b 48 Magenta_r 35 Magenta_g 4 Magenta_b 44 White Balance r-off 25 g-off 26 b-off 20 r-gain 15 g-gain 27 b-gain 26 10-pt intervals 1 2, 1, 3 2 2, 3, 3 3 -1, 0, 1 4 -5,-4,-3 5 -4,-3,-6 6 -4,-3,-5 7 -4,-3,-4 8 -2,-1,-2 9 -2,-2,-3 10 -3,-2,-1 Now with those settings they are not noticeable from my viewing distance, and cannot be seen in the black bars even when you go right up to the screen, however if I change the gamma from -2 to -1, then they become noticeable when the screen is black and can be seen in the black bars. Another example is, if I increase the cell light to 15, decease the brightness to 54 and set the gamma to -1 they can't be seen, though if I increase the brightness by 1 to 55, then they become visible from my viewing distance and in the blacks bars.
