I would always cancel and preorder again if that is an option. Don't trust them to update their prices.

If you live in the UK it is appreciably cheaper from Sainsburys but they don't ship overseas so not much use to you in The Netherlands.

Not amazons fault. I'd blame resellers for sucking up stock.

How much was this on Amazon when it was listed?

Found it. 23.20 gbp.
That's 27 Euros. Zavvi charges 35.
I pay 27 Euros max, even if it is via Zavvi...

I ordered it.
It was €40 and now €35. Still a lot though.

I am so glad I preordered this movie on Amazon before things got crazy!
I haven't even seen this flick and ordered this edition on a whim because it looked cool Looks like I got lucky for once!

Same here! ordered my copy as soon as this thread was originally posted

I like the idea of something special for the 3D market for a change too. Seems all too often that the 3D fans are left out (2d gets limited packaging of all sorts) - even as far as some of the special features on disc's.

There seems to be a fair bit of talk of other "international" Life of Pi steelbooks being a true "limited edition run" (some are saying that the Taiwan release is set at 1000 only) maybe, just maybe this UK edition is the same?

Roll on release day!
Chris

I think it's more of a case that overseas buyers now have a reliable and cheap way to get some steels from the uk. I think that's why it sold out. Hopefully they get more as I'd prefer to get it from amazon rather than zavvii.

Dude, you can get it from Zavvi as well... with their standard shipping it usually takes forever... But today i found-out they do express post as well....

If this steel doesn't reappear @ AMZ in 10 days... will go ahead and order from them, it comes to £34.94 / $54 (that's inc. fast shipping).

BTW, The £/$ exchange rate is quite favorable this week, $1.52 vs. $1.63 a month ago.

Well gotta say I'm disappointed with the cover of this 3D edition after seeing this great film at the flicks

It's all very colourful but the freakin' whale is in the film for all of 30 seconds if that, ridiculous marketing decision IMO

I think it looks really cool, I agree it's a bit 'colorful' but isn't that the whole point? = a fancy steelbook.

The standard UK edition's got the Tiger on the cover, so maybe you'll like that better.

Yeah but it's not 3D is it ! I agree about the 'fancy' steelbook but there's no 3D edition without the bloomin' whale, instead of the tiger. Looks like I could be buying 2 editions just to get a decent cover along with the associated expense, ridiculous !
