How Many Games Will Be Released for BOTH PS3 and PS4? - Blu-ray Forum

So far we've heard confirmation that Watch Dogs will be released for both the PS3 and PS4 simultaneously. Is there any info out there about any other games? I'd really like if Infamous: Second Son was released on the PS3 as well.

I'm not getting a PS4 immediately, particularly since I can't copy my PSN stuff over there because they allegedly "can't" due to whatever structure they claim prevents it. Save the cries of "but...but...but they can't!!!!" I get it, I get it, it's completly impossible and has nothing to do with them just wanting to get people to rebuy the same shit again on a new console. I get it.

That said, how many games do you anticipate being released to both consoles?

I imagine the new Assassins Creed IV (Black Flag?) will be released to both, seeing as how it's probably gonna get a Holiday release and the same studio is putting out Watch Dogs which is dual console.

I don't care how many they put on both, I just hope they get the cloud working soon so you can play PS3 games on the 4. That would be amazing but I highly doubt that will be available at launch

Destiny is another example. In fact, I can see a lot of devs sticking to the old consoles for quite some time. Thisgen wasn't exactly cheap on the devs and I don't think that's gonna change. Hopefully MGS: Ground Zeros will be one of those games.

I don't think the new Infamous is a launch game. They showed no gameplay and Sony has not announced it as a launch title. I think it will probably coming out Spring next year. I'm not buying a Playstation 4 until they release a game I want and so far the only announced game I want is Infamous.

I think the last two you mention are just going to be current gen.

Presumably he's going on the fact that it hasn't been done before and it lessens the need to upgrade systems if you can still play with others on newer systems.

Console to console hasn't been done before, but there's plenty of examples of different systems playing against each other. That's all PC gaming is (windows, Mac and Linux; even ps3 when you count Portal 2.

God of War 3 was only on PS3.

It was God of War 2. The game was released on PS2 when PS3 was just launched. That didn't stop from being one of the very best PS2 games. I think I read in the remastered notes that the developers used a 448p resolution for the original GOW2 game.

Oops... Mispost. I was on my phone and not paying full attention. But my original point still stands. Sony isn't going to completely dump the PS3 day 1. There's still too much money to be made with the PS3.

Both are very possible to be cross-gen.

Wait til E3. If theres no announcement then we can assume they won't make it over to PS4.
