Need help with ceiling speaker choice

Not to steal your thread....but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has these kind of ceiling speakers period.

Looking at putting this in the basement:

My room will be an awkward layout and this seemed like a good solution.

Definitive Technology in-wall speakers are excellent. Def Tech is one of very few companies that makes bipolar in-wall surround speakers. They are not cheap, but worth the price.

If you want cheap, Monoprice sells in-wall speakers.

Rear speakers do not have to be from the same company as the front speakers.

But how do they sound compared to rears? They say it sounds like the surround is coming at ear level, but obviously it's not. Is it just marketing, or is it for real?

In-wall and in-ceiling speakers are not as good as regular cabinet speakers, but Definitive Technology makes very good in-wall surround speakers.

Maybe you could put the in ceiling speakers on stands? Then they would really be at your ears.
