USA Electra Glide in Blue (1973) - June 4, 2013

Courtesy of Shout! Factory

Electra Glide in Blue Blu-ray

Quote:
The only thing good-hearted motorcycle cop John Wintergreen (Robert Blake) wants is to become a detective- to wear a big stetson smoke fancy cigars and be paid to think. So when he stumbles upon a dead body he takes on the case...and proves his stuff! But as soon as he's promoted the corruption he must tolerate makes the stetson not fit so well and the cigars not taste so good. Forced to confront his own disillusionment Wintergreen heads out on his bike the Electra Glide where he makes another shocking discovery- one that could cost him his life!

Where are you getting your information from? You've started 3 separate threads, for 3 different movies allegedly to be released on blu-ray.

Incredible, underrated movie. Beautiful cinematography and a great performance by Robert Blake. Judging by the lack of replies, I guess there aren't too many people who've seen it.

Shout/Scream Factory is on a serious hot streak this year with all of these great cult classics.

I'm fine with my DVD, but you're quite right about the cinematography and Blake.
[Show spoiler]That endless final (and fatal) shot (pun intended!), with the soundtrack swelling up, always gets me.

Saw this years ago and liked it--pretty much forgot about it until just now.

I wonder what kind of "wonderful" cover Shout! has in store for us on this one. But hey, the picture should look nice!

Here are a few ideas to ignore:

full cover link

I would suggest NOT using this as part of the cover art:

I remember seeing this film in the cult section of my video store years ago on VHS. I never got around to watching it, now is the time. I really like the VHS art.

Monroeville, you might want to spoilerize that painting for those who haven't seen the film.

it is, but in cool sorta way, It has Robert Blake, and members of the band Chicago in it, a true cult classic!

Has some great camerawork, courtesy of the late great Conrad Hall.

I do find it odd this film has a PG rating condidering the amount of violence in the film

Plus it boasts the dependably oddball Billy Green Bush, Nicholson's hillbilly buddy in Five Easy Pieces.

What a blast from the past, I saw this when I was 11. This is good news. Maybe we will finally see seasons 2 and 3 of Baretta released.

Although this film was pre-Dolby, it was released in some places in 35mm 4-track mag stereo and it sounded really terrific. Hopefully they found the mag tracks sources for the BD release.

This a great cult classic from the 70s. I'm loving the titles that Shout Factory is bringing out on blu these days (this, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Rolling Thunder).

For anyone who hasn't seen this, note that it isn't your standard 70s cop film. Not to give too much away, but Wintergreen is a bit of an outcast and it definitely has that early 70s anti-establishment feel to it that you'd find in films such as Vanishing Point.
