I am new to steelbook collecting and im interested in collecting more! However the only place I really check for steelbook updates is here, so my question is where do you guys go to find out info on new releases as i'd like the best possible chance at buying the steelbooks I am interested in (reference Who Framed Roger Rabbit...)

The best place for steelbook news/info is Hi-Def Ninja. It's another forum much like this but they get news earlier and have a lot more info about steelbooks. Here's a link: http://www.hidefninja.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=39

There are OTHER very useful sites you can use to find out which steelbooks you missed out on. But I warn you using them will just empty your bank account.
http://www.youtube.com (search "steelbook collection") http://www.ebay.com / http://www.ebay.de / http://www.ebay.co.uk / http://www.ebay.fr http://www.amazon.com / http://www.amazon.co.uk / http://www.amazon.fr / http://www.amazon.de http://www.amazon.co.jp/ |

ALL the same information gets recycled from forum to forum so it doesnt matter where you go to get it and most of it comes from the sites that sell the steelbooks because of NDA's that limit what Scanavo can share.
you are in UK, I believe AVForums has a steelbook section also. |

There's a thread indicating that there 'may' be some Warner 90th Anniversary steels and then 6 pages of people guessing what movies they are or what they'll look like - but nobody really knows anything and their existence is still not confirmed by anything concrete. I believe the OP, but at the moment it's speculation. It seems like you have a chip on your shoulder about HDN, but there are LOTS of threads about actual steelbooks (that exist in real life) on HDN that aren't on here. Hell, one of the biggest shocks of the last couple of months (the Star Trek re-release) had a major piece of news (the fact that Zavvi were going to be listing two versions of the Star Trek steel - the black and the white) clarified here by me because the misinformation was starting to annoy me. Even then it was questioned and those people quickly shut up and got their orders in for the second version when it was listed for pre-order a week later. |

As many already mentioned there isn't long before news spreads across various collector forums so in the end it's down to what you feel is "home" or "right".
I like the smaller communitys over the bigger ones, though i do visit for example this board regularly aswell. |

But like someone said above, information usually gets recycled to everywhere pretty quick anyway for general stuff. |

I went to HDN once. For some reason the vibe of the forum didn't grab me.
Its probably true they have some people in the know. I know that many of my colleagues have accounts there but they also have accounts here. So like everyone says its just a matter of time before the news spreads. |
