If it gets de/embossed front and back, it might be a pretty sweet steel.

Let's hope that someone who's actually in charge(or someone who can make a difference) in artwork department is reading this kind of stuff, there shouldn't be anything on Steelbook except artwork and movie title, no super mega special edition 2-disc limited set, no banners, no new film, no anniversary, no barcodes, no rating logos, all those things can be printed on J-Card, but not on Steel

Hopefully the black border on the front doesn't take up that much space. Wish the "new movie" part wasn't on the front either but oh well, I'll still take it

mostly agreed, but I don't mind this type of stuff as long as it's done tastefully, because it will always remain true.

Certainly agree about "New Film". Get that crap outta here! It's only a "new film" when it's a new film, right? A half dozen more new films down the road from QT, "New Film" is gonna look pretty silly on Django from 2012.

Inside artwork posted looks cool.

The black border won't take up that much space, it's part of the bleed and wraps round the edges so won't look as big on the front cover of the final product.

The images posted are from the proofs, that is exactly what the steelbook will look like, as has been said the image is for the entire surface of the steelbook so the edges you see in the pictures will wrap around the edges of the steelbook.

I can see where they are going by using the poster art, but it would have been nice to leave off the new film text. At least the didn't leave the names on it too.

Played a bit in Photoshop

This is what the steelbook will look then actually:

The black boarder is okay so, I think sticking to my pre-order

The black border on that image looks thinner than the one posted the other day. It looks better in any event.

That's because the picture has been edited. The one with the thicker border is one where the whole Steelbook is laid flat. In other words there is a small area at the edge of all sides that will be bent over to form the case. The edited photo is intended to show how it would look if those 'bleed' areas are hidden as it would look when you see the final product

That's kind what I figured after looking at both. I should have realized from the first pic as that border just looked huge and ugly, lol. I never really saw these Steelbook design layouts before so I'll keep this in mind for the future, thanks for the input

I still think "The New Film" is very silly. Can't believe everyone approved that.

I don't mind the black border at all. And the back and inside are both fantastic. I'm sure this will be a very hot collectors item.

I don't mind "The New Film" as it reminds me of a classic western poster.

I love the black & red. It will always be the most striking colour combination for anything bar perhaps black & yellow. If the chain is embossed & flush with the border it will look fantastic.

Can't wait to watch this again!

Why does amazon.co.uk have this listed as not in stock, but you are able to preorder it?

They've sold out... But whenever someone decides to cancel their Steelbook order > that's when it reappears on the website.
