Seiki does not list it on their site for some reason. I emailed them the other day inquiring about future firmware updates for the player, but I have yet to get a response. If you wish to buy the player online or get specs, go to Sears.com or Kmart.com. As far as Cinavia protection, I can't answer that for you.

Oh, well in that case, then I don't know. I have 1 Region B disc on my person, and the movie is 1080p while the bonus material is 480i. All I know is that one DVD I have in 576i PAL, converted to 480i NTSC without an issue.

I never owned a BD660, so I can't compare the two. All I know is that the BD660 is a profile 2.0 player and the SR212S is a profile 1.1 player.

I cant comment since my Sr212s is still in transit and I never owned the previous bd660 model but I am commenting here because in bd660 the USB slot is on the back so its a pain if you watch stuff from USB often but in this new model its on front. Also this new model is light weight compare to the previous model. Other than this basically both have the same functions. |

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=95245 The vast majority of movies in Region B will be 1080p24, there is a list of 1080i50 movies here - http://www.avsforum.com/t/1117941/li...red-in-1080i50 For the most part it will be music concerts and sporting events that come out in Region B at 1080i50. Radiohead's recent Live from the Basement is only available in 1080i50 and the Formula One Season Reviews have only come out in Region B locked and in 1080i50, bit of a pain but you quickly learn to differentiate between PAL > NTSC and 1080i50 > 1080i60! |

The player itself is cheap looking and a little noisy(you can hear the disc spinning from a few feet away) but it was only $50! I like the build quality of my Insignias (Brdvd2)a lot more but those are getting harder to find. Anyway, I just thought I'd try out this player and let you know about my experience with it. So far it's okay and I'll keep it as a backup. |

That is amazing that Kmart is now offering the Seiki SR212S for only $49.99 with free shipping (only profile 1.1). Hopefully future Seiki models with be profile 2.0 BD-LIVE with streaming services similar to some $48 LG Blu-ray models that Walmart was selling. If Seiki does decide to offer a firmware update to this model it will have to be installed either from the USB or an optical disc like a CD-R. I wonder how long it will be before this Blu-ray player goes out of production. Once the BDA discovers the secret region menu there most likely will be a new firmware update issued to remove that region menu or the player will go out of production.
