Default Recommend some chick flicks

I need to start buying my wife some blu-rays. She always complains that I always buy mivues that I want to watch....which is very true. Im going to buy Hairspray for her, but I need to buy some more that she would enjoy. Also, it will let me buy more blu's

Can you guys/gals recommend some more movies that women may like.

Juno was entertaining until shitty Diablo Cody tried to reinvent a million new catchphrases and then would reference some indie rock band every single time she didn't know what to write in her screenplay because.... she's a shitty writer.

That movie is fine, but it has some huge flaws that people refuse to recognize because they're too busy swooning over awkward nostalgia references or Belle and Sebastian songs.

Chick Flicks:

Love Actually
Volver
Young Guns (lol)

Catch & Release wasn't too bad. I normally do not like chick flicks because they are so carbon copy. You really have to like the formula to enjoy that type of movie.

For example you could say the same about sports movies. If you don't like the formula (cause they're almost always the same) then you're not going to like the movie usually.

But Catch & Release surprised me. It held to the mold and broke away from it at the same time.

Some of these movies that have been listed I don't think really qualifies as "Chick Flicks" but movies anyone from men, women, and children might enjoy.

I would not consider any of these as "Chick Flicks". Just because its a drama or someone cries or the lead is a chick doesn't make it a chick flick. Not to say a chick would not like those.

Click
Ratatouille
Juno
Pursuit of Happyness
Reign Over Me

Chick Flicks I would suggest....

Catch & Release
The Lake House
Across the Universe
Enchanted
Love Actually (If it ever hits Blu-Ray is great)
Dirty Dancing (Every Chick loves this)
The Holiday
The Waitress (when it comes to Blu)

Hmmm

forget Dreamgirls

Memoirs of a Geisha and Phantom of the Opera are only little better

Rata and Cars are good animations (too bad Sleeping Beauty isn't out)

try Corpse Bride, Volver (if she speaks Spanish or doesn't mind subtitles)

I liked The Prestige, Million Dollar Baby, Pan's Labyrinth, Chicago

but none of the really big guns are out on Blu

Ice Age and Meltdown are good animations, too. Who doesn't love the saber-tooth squirrel?

EDIT: When it comes out, Sense and Sensibility, the one with Emma and Kate.

Stranger Than Fiction was great, The Holiday was OK, Lake House was...rubbish. It made NO sense. There are such huge flaws in the logic to overlook just to get a sub-par romantic story.

Becoming Jane - My fiance LOVES it. We rented it a couple weeks back and she made me rent it AGAIN... so I got it for her on BLU. If you look it up on here it actually got very good reviews... PQ is VERY good. James McAvoy's character makes it bearable.

Devil Wears Prada is a favorite of hers as well (more Anne Hathaway)

She also loved Enchanted and Ratatouillie. And for what it's worth... She really didn't like Dan in Real life all that much. It was okay, but I wasn't super pumped with it.

And yes, Juno was FANTASTIC, when that comes out in the near future.
