Predator Collection

I don't think there is a thread for this release yet, so I thought I would make one, especially since it's on sale on Amazon.com this week.



I've read that this collection has been packaged two different ways, one with the original 2008 release of the first film and the other with the 2010 "Ultimate Hunter Edition" of the first film. I saw two unboxing videos on YouTube and they both came with the "Ultimate Hunter Edition" version.

Does anyone know which version is most likely shipping from Amazon these days?

All versions of this particular release (which was released in 2010) come with the UHE. The back shows the UHE and lists the extras that are only on that release.

A few of us have been talking about it over in the UHE thread.

There's no evidence that this set ever came with the 2008 release. There are some reviews on Amazon that talk about it coming with the 2008 release, but those are from people who don't actually own the set (and are basing their comments off what they've been incorrectly told) or who are speculating on the Own the Moments set from 2012. The reviews on Amazon are a combination of people talking about multiple releases, further adding to the confusion (something Amazon does all too often).

rickah88 ordered the set yesterday, and he'll be reporting back on what version he receives in the set. It should be the UHE since that's the one that's always been included, but it's possible that Fox has changed things for a new run (although I seriously doubt that considering their new run for it is the Own the Moments set).

I might be a bit confused, because that "Own The Moments" link looks like it includes the first 2008 version, but the one I got last fall had the UHE version. In any event, that one cost me $10, the 2008 version cost me $5, so for $15 I got the whole package. I put them all in a three disc case with just the 2008 artwork in front.

By all accounts, the Own the Moments release has the UHE. The information at the bottom of the listing here on this site where it says it has the 2008 release is incorrect. I think that's automatically generated because I don't see a way to change it for the listing.

I do remember someone posting that they got the 2008 version with theirs though. Let me see if I can find that post.

It's always possible that there are multiple versions, and Fox just tossed in whatever they had laying around. The overwhelming amount of people online indicate they received the UHE in the Own the Moments release. Hardly anyone has reported getting the 2008 release.

Either way, no one has reported receiving the 2008 release in the box set listed in the OP.

Yep, it's quite possible. I bought the Own the Moments set brand new at Target a few months back and it had the 2008 release of Predator.

Glad I'm not the only one who got the old disc. Felt kinda bad when it turned out most people got the UHE.

The "Ultimate Hunter Edition" that comes in this set is the one with way too much DNR, right? If I prefer dirt and graininess to excessive DNR, I should buy the 2008 edition? Hopefully they do a remaster someday...

Yes I should be receiving this Predator Collection today, and will post and provide pictures(if necessary) as to what actually comes in the set.
Since it's coming in USPS, I should receive this anywhere between 3-5pm EST.

Just got my Predator Collection in today. 100% it's the UHE (2010) disc.
I feel bad that I got this set, pretty much for the box...but it's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last.
I'm sure I'll be able to sell the 2 movies(as I already own them), for a couple bucks just to offset the cost.
So now this box will house: Predator 2008 disc & 2010 UHE disc(in a double disc amaray, Predator 2.

Edit: Neither disc was wrapped in plastic, just the title sticker over the top. Plus a white-out sticker over the barcode.

I would be interested to hear if you have any problem playing the UHE on your PS3 as several people have reported on Amazon. Or, would you rather not do that, since you probably want to sell it as a new disk. Are the two cases individually shrink wrapped in the box?
