help!!! special features on blu ray playing weird

My movies are fine on blu ray but the special features are playing with black border going all the way round them and the picture is small this is really weird why dont they just play in normal picture format what can i do???

It is probably because it is in non-anamorphic 480p video.

Special features are normally different from the movie itself so some of them will look different.

the special features on normal dvds are fine though so its nothing to do with my tv ,why are they playing different on blu ray i just dont understand it

could you tell use if it is on al blu-rays or only some and what player you have?

Depending on the movie many special features are in standard definition 480I or 480P. Many of the special features were shot in a 4:3 ratio so having black bars on the side of the screen is normal. Watching other movies special features should fill the screen in 16:9 ratio. It depends on how the special features were filmed. In the future special features for some hit movies on BLU-RAY will be filmed in 16:9 1080P High Definition and will be placed on a second disc.

True, it could be 4:3 letterboxed and in that case one would have black bars on the top, bottom, and sides of the screen with a small picture. This is normal but will tick some people off. Once BLU-RAY catches on a little more we should start seeing anamorphic 480I special features and a lot more HDTV special features on a second disc.
