There was discussion in another thread on here and over at HDN which suggests that Warner will no longer release G1 sized Steelbooks in France. I'm not sure how accurate that it is, but some French members are pretty certain that it is now the case.
In fact the thread at HDN states: - G2 - There's an intern artwork for each title - The Data Sheet will be printed on the back - No embossing nor debossing Last edited by snooloui; 03-30-2013 at 10:15 PM. |

I would wait a little bit before buying. Warner released their Argo "Utimate Edition" in a Blu-Ray sized digipack. That was a first.
And apparently they will release a G2 steelbook for the Hobbit 3D. But besides that, there have no information on another G2 release. We can never know. |

I'd want all of them except Green Lantern which I already have, but there's no way I'll be getting any of them as I'd prefer them in G2 (possible) but not with French titles and French on the back.

As a language in its own right, nothing. As a native English speaker, I much prefer movies that were made in the English language (even if translated elsewhere) are released with English on the box. Obviously, I'm more than happy for those titles to get releases elsewhere in the world translated on the packaging to whatever is relevent and as such, simply won't buy that version. Possibly what I find frustrating about this wave is that the likes of Batman Forever and Green Lantern have English titles, whereas Batman Returns and Justice League: Doom are French. There isn't even any consistancy. Superman Unbound seems to have become Superman: Braniac Attacks which is a completely different movie all together.
I'm not sure that every 'foreign language' has been translated into English, nor do I feel they should be. That said, as English is a very common language either as a first or second one, it makes commercial sense to have a translated version available for other markets. |
