The Spartacus Collection: UK release uncut? - Blu-ray Forum

I would like to order the 3 film box from the UK.
Not sure if it's cut- it shows rated 18.
Getting a bit confused here because on amazon.de there are complaints of heavy cuts...

Movies in Holland are almost always uncut, but there's no sign of a combination box and one series cost more than the three from the UK.

Anybody got some info?

What box set do you mean? I take it you don't mean the TV series? If you are, it is uncut.

If you look in the various Spartacus TV series threads here there was discussion of potentially optical censoring of the down below naughty bits

on the UK and European releases, in some scenes. I have read conflicting reports of this also being on the US release as well.

Germany's a bit odd when it comes to violence, they appear to br cool with most things (many Dexter episodes get lower ratings in Germany than in the UK), but they appear to have more of an issue with some things than us (for example, the cut version of The Walking Dead: S1 got an 18 in Germany, but a 15 over here)

Movie-Censorship lists nothing besides extended cuts of the episodes (not sure if I can post a link), however it does say that the UK release of "Gods of the Arena" may not contain the extended episodes (so it's worth doing a bit more research before committing)

Even if the BBFC has PAL run-times they don't match up.

The BBFC will be using PAL run times, I've only ever seen one non-PAL runtime and that was labelled as "Blu-ray version". And I was just saying that the UK box set might not include the extended cuts, I didn't articulate that very well though...

Importing US will be expensive.

I would have suggested the US boxset, because Anchor Bay normally release uncut (and the US definitely get the extended cuts), but it is region A locked so make sure you have a region A compatible player before you buy...

blood and sand + gods of the arena is totally uncut in the UK.. for vengeance im not sure..ive got the US digibook

(a few episodes a realy hardcore compared to the other 2 seasons) ..

Do they include the extended episodes?

Someone over on the AV forums said the UK set of Vengeance is extended. They using PAL runtimes.

Hopefully the Wrath of the Damned release has some subtitles. They are unfortunately missing on Vengeance.

It's Anchor Bay, so all the UK releases are region B locked and all the US releases are region A locked...

I get the feeling this is a rush release. There are no extra features on the UK release but I imagine the US release will have some by the time it rolls around!

Really annoyed there are no extras on this - especially since the previous series had a decent number of commentaries etc. I pre-ordered it presuming there would be at least some stuff on there, almost wish I hadn't now.
