Well, you have one year with Sony from the date of purchase. After that year, if something goes wrong, it will cost something to send it away for repair. But with a 2% to 3% failure rate, you must ask yourself if it is worth the putting money on something that the odds are against.

Costco has the best warranty ever! If your ps3 defected, damaged or any issues, then they will refund you 100% within 90 days.

Edit: All Video Games & HiDef BD/DVD Players covered 90 Days of warranty.

Does the sony warranty still come into play
How will i know
I never bought anything but blu rays online before
All i know is they got 2 options
and a 30 day return for the same thing but no refund on your money policy

yes, as long as they have date of purchase on the receipt.
extended warranty optional. i prefer sony's warranty, cuz its free of charge.

If you want Metal Gear Solid 4, you might want to wait until June when the bundle comes. The 80GB PS3, dual shock 3 controller, and MGS4 for $499.

Is it really going to be the 80GB PS3 because the recent reports online state that Japan is getting a 40GB MGS4 bundle. Am I correct to assume that America instead is getting the 80GB bundle instead of Japan's 40GB bundle? I for one am postponing until June to get the limited edition PS3, plus I prefer the 80GB over the 40GB. Any info regarding the 80GB/40GB bundle coming in June?

Don't bother with an extended warranty. The PS3 is a very solid machine with a very low failure rate.

And i didnt get the extended warranty...30 day replacement from the website is up....then what happens??? Just curious

Call Sony! You have ONE YEAR from date of purchase with Sony. They will send you a box to ship your PS3 back to them. They will repair it and ship it back to you. All free of charge within the first year of ownership.

The only info about this so far is it will be 80GB, have the MGS4 game, and the dual shock 3 controller for $499.
