Great steelbook though the extras likely won't be anywhere as good as Scream factory's release...

Haha I thought this film was good, a bit crazy but funny. Might have to go for this when it's released

I've never seen Lifeforce

This might be my first Arrow steel though. Very nice.

I think you'll be correct about that. So I'm thinking of getting both and popping the Scream disc in the Steelbook. Kind of pricey, but it would be THE definitive edition in existence.

Do it. That's what a fan would do.

So Arrow does the UK release, while Shout Factory does the US?

I'm not sure I like the back cover of the steelbook. What's with the two pods and the naked blonde girls strapped to them? I don't recall any of that in the movie.

I do remember Mathilda May, of course.

It's a variation of one of the original posters. They used it on the UK VHS release back in the day, and while it's not exactly sreen accurate, it's nice to see it.

Yes, I realize it's a variation of one of the original movie posters -- but not only do I question why it was ever used in the first place, but why it's being reused again as the backcover of a blu-ray case, especially when there is no scene or blond female characters that look like that in the movie.

Plus, I just really don't think the artwork looks all that great, especially when compared to the much better Japanese variation, where at least the naked female looks more like Mathilda May.

Default Space Vampires

The picture seems to be based on the cover illustration of the original novel "Space Vampires" by Colin Wilson

People seem to agree that the movie itself is entertaining on the merit of being goofy. It starts off as a space movie, then it's zombies, and finally London gets destroyed! Patrick Stewart!

I actually like that book cover better than the UK poster/steelbook. It's darker, with more subdued colors and that classic 70's fantasy artist paint texture. If I was going to be picky (which I am), I would have made those breasts a little more formed though, like on the latter posters, because they make the figure look a little too masculine, especially with that one arm cast in shadow appearing somewhat massive in muscularity.

Still, I think the Japanese poster looks the best.

About the movie -- It is one of my guilty pleasures. It's not perfect, but I love the concept, the special effects, the sets, the score, and the naked woman. I like to view the film as a shaky bridge between two other Dan O'Bannon scripted films: Alien (space) and Return of the Living Dead (zombies).

Both the poster you posted, and the one they're using on the back, are both great posters. I'd love to see the front artwork they're using get replaced by the one you posted there, and leave the back as is. The front one they're using just so boring and common.

I like the one they're using on the back - that was actually one of the original posters, so I have no problem with them using it. Here's the original poster:
