Great news! Day one buy for me.

Sorry I don't already know this, but who is "MisterLime" and what is his connection to Olive Films? Just trying to figure out where the info came from.

Superb noir. Alton's cinematography should look wonderful in HD. He was truly one of the best.

I just finished watching this, it's a fantastic film - I was shocked how good it was, not expecting anything from it. The cinematography is incredible.

John Alton was one of the masters - check out He Walked by Night, The Amazing Mr. X, Raw Deal and T-Men. All textbook noir lighting. Beautiful stuff.

Yep, The Amazing Mr X is a favorite of mine - I have the Sony MOD DVD, struck from a UK source and the quality is quite good. Sadly, unlikely to hit Blu-Ray I imagine, but you never know. Anyway, as soon as I saw Alton's name at the beginning of The Big Combo, I knew I was in for a treat. Looks like I will just have to suck up that high pre-order price
