Default Lionsgate seals on Blu

I have to say this, Lionsgate packaging pisses me right off. I recently bought First blood and Descent and both have extremely annoying seals on them. First off, you take the wrapper off. Then for some inexplicable reason you have 3 seals, one on each opening side which are a ***** to get off. Then you notice, the glue that is used stays on the see through plastic of the cover. So that your cover doesn't stick to the one on the shelf next to it and leave marks on that, you have to spend 15 minutes rubbing it off with a solution product of your choice.

Grrr, makes me so mad when they do this. Reminds me of the NTSC U/C PS2 games that took me 15 minutes just to get into, but this is worse. The glue and seals is so over done, surely I am not the only person suffering from this trait.

Comments welcome.

The seals are a pain in the ass for sure. One is more than enough.

Goo gone works pretty well, I will usually just use the sticker and have it pick itself up, after about 5 or 6 times it usually gets all of it. It's sad to have a system for this sort of thing

A lot of the titles had this issue at first and yeah, it was really annoying. After we complained here, Sony stopped doing it. Hopefully everyone will stop doing that soon (if they haven't already). Of course, even if everyone had stopped doing that already and you buy an older title, there's a chance you could get one that still has 3 sides taped up.

Anyway, I still need to get some of the sticky residue off several of mine. Every time I try to pull one of those titles out, it pulls out others with it.

Simplest solution but a little time consuming (not much though).

#1. Use a blade of some sort to cut along the very middle of the sticker along the outside edge of the case.

#2. Starting from one of the corners where you just cut, pull the adhesive loose from that entire edge (until the sticker starts to pull the plastic sheath away from the case.

#3. With one hand, hold down the one end of the plastic sheath where you will start the removing pull.

#4. Tear that mother like it's a giant band-aid on the hairiest part of your body! Quick = painless. There may be a little residue left, but that comes off easily by using the freshly peeled sticker.

#5. Use the freshly peeled sticker to remove what little residue remains by re-applying the sticky side ONLY over the residue. Press firmly down on the sticker to conjoin adhesive elements to one another and then repeat step #4 and #5 until residue is gone.

***Repeat steps #1 through #5 for each half of security sticker.

Like I said, it may take a bit of time, but no chemicals are needed and all supplies are already at your disposal. Honestly though, it only takes about 5 minutes to clean the entire case in this fashion... once you get used to it. I have been using this technique for nearly 10 years on all of my DVD purcahses and have only encountered a problem once.

No. As an actor I can only appear in productions that will further my career. This type of video may set me back several steps!

I feel your pain

As a paying customer this pisses me off... This won't stop a thief with a razorblade, so what's the point? All this does is piss off the customer spending nearly $30 a pop!

Not too long ago I spent over an hour or so cleaning the glue off my Lionsgate Blu-rays... It wouldn't be so bad BUT every opening has a freaking superglued plastic seal on it! Lionsgate isn't the only studio I had these problems with but it happens everytime with them.

Humm....... I can't wait to open my 8 Lionsgate titles coming in the mail only to spend 30 minutes cleaning and chocking off cleaner fumes

Yeah the seals are a pain, there are ways around them though. If you're good you can use the corner of a table or counter and scrape them off easy. Also helps to take a knife. Or if you want to risk slight damage to your case, you can always deal with the middle one first then open up the case slowly until they pop.

for 6.50 good for replacing the crappy cases or the ones with the broken fingers on the inside. And they got shipped to me fast like in 2 days...

Or, you could just take a few minutes and do this.
