Ive held off buying this fantastic series on blu ray cause of the cut status- here's hoping that a UK version isn't too far behind.

if nothing else you can always get the uncut german release. But yeah, I hope other European labels will release an uncut edition too.

You get the actual show uncut but it's still only a 2-Disc release missing 7 commentaries and all those juicy special features from the 3-Disc release in the U.S? Pretty lazy.

I would prefer to have all the special features too but in all honesty its the uncut episodes im really after. Knowing my luck once i buy this version they will announce a UK edition so think im gunna hold off a little while first just in case.

We should just be thankful we're getting a region B uncut release at all, eOne have continuously spewed this "contractual obligations forced us to cut it" bullcrap. Evidently the contract wasn't that tight, or how'd they get out of it? (Assuming of course that this isn't all just a scam to get more money from it).

It's a pain in the ass that it isn't getting a UK release, but what can you do? eOne doesn't have any useful contact details, so it's not like we can get a mass email asking them for a UK release either.

I might have to order these I was making do with HDTV copies but now will be able to buy a full uncut copy at last.

Were they broadcasted uncut and released on blu-ray cut? I have the regular season 1 on blu-ray, always figured that was the same as the broadcasts.

Yes. It was cut for a few TV markets (notably Germany), but aired uncut in most. The cut versions of all episodes, except the pilot, appeared on the DVD/BD. A few episodes were further cut for DVD/BD than on TV...

for the german release it would be possible that they lowered the video / eng audio bitrate for the german dub.
thats what they did with season 2 (there they did acutally put all the content of 4 discs on only 3 discs , lowered a/v bitrate and left some of the bonus features out, but the same happend for the uK release of season 2)

i got the us release of both seasons and its worth it.

I just checked the BD Info structure.
All extras from the US 2 Disc BD set except of the Trailer are on the 2nd Disc. All extras are HD with english audio and german subtitles. The episodes have english and german audio, but only german subtitles.
I think the menues are german only, but I can't tell for sure.

On Disc one there are 4 episodes, the other two are on disc two.

There is NO black&white Version of episode 1.

I have no comparison to the US Set, so I just grab some shots from the episodes.

They are not burned in, also I belive, that they are not forced with the english audio. I just have the discs on my popcorn hour as rips, because I work about 400km from my collection away, so I rip them onto one disc, to watch them while I am not home. My popcorn hour has no problem showing the episodes with english audio and without german subtitles.
