You're right, they're not. I watched a 2D version of this go for under £10 earlier, although I didn't bid because I wasn't sure of the authenticity of the copy.

Might keep an eye out

it's for the mtv movie awards. i saw it on theonering.net and i'm ashamed to say it but i've kind of gotten caught up in all. i just really don't think Bilbo should lose to Snow White. Because of all the Twihards she was well in the lead but the Hobbit fans united and caught up then even over took her. Now she is back in first place. To vote just add #votebilbo to your tweet or instagram. You can do it as much as you like. Go here to see how it currently sits http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2013/best-hero/

I already tweeted it before you could explain why just because I didn't want the Hobbit to lose to her.
That being said I actually enjoyed Snow White, style over substance for sure but it was enjoyable for the eyes.

I completely agree. I thoroughly enjoyed Snow White and the Huntsman, especially the scene which was homage to Hayao Miyazaki and his Princess Mononoke. It makes me laugh that the ones voting for Bilbo are voting for Bilbo whereas a lot of the ones voting for snow white are voting for Kristen Stewart because of Twilight. I just don't think that's right.

ANYWAY back on topic, tomorrow really can't come quick enough. So looking forward to this. Anyway that is buying instore at HMV try and get there as quick as you can because my local store are giving away free Dwarf beards and other freebies. They can't be the only ones. I'm really regretting preordering from Amazon now. Oh well, at least I'll still get mine tomorrow though.

Yeah I have. More than once. I just get quite impatient with some things. I'm quite a big Tolkien fan and the LOTR trilogy are some of my favourite movies. I get caught up in the moment as well which can get quite expensive with some things. I can't wait to see what the 3D is like at home either.

I saw it twice and enjoyed it a lot, although its not a patch on the LoTR films.
I have the amazon stealbook on pre order but I'm in no real rush to see it again just yet.

Does anyone know what prices the supermarkets are doing for the regular 2D edition in store? All seem to have it for £15 online.
Given my luck with the post at the moment thought Id just head out and try my luck- usually seems to be Sainsbury's with the best in store prices these days, and they seem to have the same prices instore as online- unlike Asda.

Got a very nice A3 lenticular poster - basically a giant size of the 3D cover art - from the Southampton HMV with my copy. The fiancee will love that.

They'd also done the store up with a lot of Hobbit decorations, including the whole storefront. Looks like they're really going all-out for the release which is fantastic. Feels like the good old days of a big video release.

Here's the poster - not a great picture. It's on thin, flexible cardboard. As I say, exactly the same as the 3D version so it turns into the Gollum image.
