United Kingdom Disney's Hercules - TBA Fall 2013

According to this post, Disney's 1997 classic animated feature Hercules is due for release Fall 2013 in the United Kingdom.

Which, surely, means a North American release date will shortly follow.
The post also named Robin Hood (1973) as a new Fall release.
Other Disney movies that have been given release dates outside of the Anglosphere and are TBA as of now are The Sword in the Stone and Oliver & Co.

Nice, but again this is the NA thread. How many other US Disney releases matched the UK's? I don't know, so I'm asking. If it has been that way before, there may be hope. We didn't get Dumbo until a year or so after Mexico .

That doesn't necessarily mean we'll get it this fall, we'll definitely get it this year, but this could be the August release, afterall some releases we do get earlier.

I agree, this is all speculation and wishful thinking until it is announced. You can't take what is being released in the UK and assume that the same will happen here. 101 Dalmatians and Tarzan were already released last year and they are getting Aladdin in a couple of weeks. Yet those three haven't been announced at all in the U.S.. Likewise, from the very thread that the OP is citing, there are plenty of titles that have been released/announced to be released in the U.S. that have no planned release dates in the UK ( Rescuers Down Under, Lilo and Stitch, Winnie the Pooh (2011), Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet, Home On The Range, The Emperors New Groove, Great Mouse Detective).

I wouldn't be shocked if we did get Hercules this year, but I'm not sure why we always need a new thread for speculation and rumors when they are discussed in every single Disney thread that is already opened. Why can't people just wait until it is officially announced or something more concrete than what is being released in other countries? It all becomes very reductive!

I thought Hercules was the bomb when it first came out, Hades was a highly entertaining villian and Phil was perfect as Herc's trainer even though I wish now they've used Chiron who trained Achiles

Now that I look back on Herc, it's an okay film, they took GREAT liberties to lighten the myths, for example Hera was the godess who tried to murder Herc due to Zeus being a womanizing god, she drove Herc to complete madness and caused him to kill his family . Nessus (the centuar) did attempt to seduce a woman, but it wasn't Meg, it was Deianeira.

Here's the myth of that encounter

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nessus_(mythology)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deianira

Obivously Disney couldn't truely portray the myth in a fairly grim way, but it would've been neat if Hercules took a PG 13 route

Watched this on VHS last night. I hadn't seen in since 1999. I didn't have a problem with the story, I had a problem with the almost wall to wall music. I know the Disney movies of this time were done in the Broadway musical style, but man it could've benefited from a few less musical numbers.

I agree. I get kind of annoyed to come to the North America forum and read nothing but posts on European/Asian releases which ignites a fire about what's coming out in the US and Diamond and what's not.

Revived! Three mentioned titles (Robin Hood, Oliver and Co., and Sword in the Stone) are on amazon. No Hercules however there are some Pooh in there as well as a muppet movie and Mickey's Christmas Carol.
