Sony Announces 4k TV Pricing Releasing April 21st!

Sony's 55-inch Bravia XBR-55X900A will retail for a quarter of the price at $5,000 and it's 65-inch XBR-65X900A will ring in at just $2,000 more. Both are currently available for preorder and will ship on April 21st.

True 4k 699 Dollars More

Sony also announced pricing and tentative release dates for the televisions' companion streaming box, the 4K FMP-X1. The puck-like device that debuted at CES and promises "true 4K resolution" will retail at $699 and be available for purchase sometime this summer. However, downloadable 4K video will not be available until the fall, so viewers will have to settle for a paltry 10 videos that are bundled with the system, including Bad Teacher and last year's Total Recall.

I already have a 65" PDP. To bad they didn't do a 75" 4k set as I don't want a set the same size as the one I already have.

They did an 84" set but that's priced at 25k

I can't think of anything worse than an 84" telly so I'm waiting for the reasonably priced projectors to come along. 3 years?

Can't wait until Sony comes out with a 90" or 100" 4K TV. Got just the spot for it in bath room.
