At this point, they're new editions with added content that should be treated as general releases, similar to the thread for the Universal 100 titles.
Also agreed but ultimately its not that important in the grand scheme of things, but just a reminder of the forum has trolls from trollville that whine and bellyache over the placement of threads...aka no life

I'd say the importance lies in the fact that the thread won't be seen by most members if it's in here. I may not have seen it if it hadn't been started in the main North America forum, because I hardly ever go into the SteelBook forum. And while the SteelBooks are nice, the bigger draw for me are the UV copies.

It's just a shame that there might be a lot of forum members who would be interested in knowing about these releases, but now there's no thread in the regularly-checked forums to give them a heads up.

Which would be 21 all total. Not sure of the Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz 2pack is a steelbook or not?
There's also a Total Recall (1989) Reel Heroes release in Europe.

Out of all the Reel Heroes covers I would have to say T2 is the best of all.

Total Recall ain't bad either:

Pity none of them are distributed by Universal in the US, cause I'd love to have Steelbooks of those. The Reel Heroes design was commissioned by Universal (from Hixville Design), so they won't appear on a Lionsgate release any time soon.

The only reason I stumbled across this thread is because I was in the trading forum (for the 2nd time ever) & I never come here because I'm more into digibooks.

I bit on Shaun of the Dead, may get something else later.

Not digging the comic art style at all. You will need to buy the whole set for it to look cool and besides, most of them have been released as SteelBooks already with better artwork.

Not too hard to pass on this one. 14 SteelBooks lighter now.

Actually you don't, but keep telling yourself whatever you need to in order to justify not buying them.

I don't think you do either, but some of these just don't fit my tastes. I am digging the movie titles that have comic book backgrounds and have pre-ordered those, but some of these I just don't feel fit the comic book style art.

I agree, and even said something along those lines when the 2nd UK wave was announced

They're taking away any sort of meaning from the Reel Heroes moniker and just finding a reason to re-release some random titles. Doom, and maybe Mongol are the only ones that might fit.

Yup, and Scarface, The Big Lebowski and Paul. To me it seems they have a lot of left over stock and are looking for a way to move it.

Buy 'em all...a lot less thinking involved that way!

I guess I'll take the good with the bad:

Good: The US is ramping up their steelbook output, finally!
Bad: Amazon UK was never able to fulfill my orders for Heat Premium Collection SB & Incredible Hulk Uni-100 SB.

Hopefully the US gets these as well!

I pre-ordered Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. I saw a 2-pack of Hot Fuzz + Shaun of the Dead for $13.99 and it's coming out 20 days earlier, so I'll probably get that instead. Paul I'll get during U&S, otherwise I'll pick it up in this Steelbook format.

I also considered the Scarface steel but I'll probably only go for that if Paul doesn't work out at Best Buy's U&S.

Just placed my pre-orders for The Incredible Hulk & Serenity. May cancel, may not as I also placed pre-orders for Warner's Steelbooks of Batman (89) & Batman Returns. But definitely glad I ran across this thread as $13.99 is a great price.

I'd suggest everyone on the fence to lock in the price down. Amazon has a tendency to change their pre-order discount from 30% to 10% and there's no guarantee they'll lower it again. You can always cancel anytime before it ships so no harm

Is that 2-pack confirmed to be a steelbook? I see the price is the same, but I wasn't aware that Universal did a "Reel Heroes" 2-pack?
