Default Any News about Team America World Police?

I've seen it in the Paramount trailer on a few discs but haven't heard anything else.
Anyone know anything? I searched but turned up naught.

I've got to ask, why do you want puppets and strings in HD? Do you not own the movie, and would just rather get it on the new format? I love the movie, but there's no way I'm upgrading this title.

Just want to know your reason, not insinuating anything.

Actually this movie had pretty awesome sound... And judging from the HD advertisements in front of all of Paramounts movies, I'd say the picture quality will rock too. I've been waiting for this title (along with Lemony Snicket and The Truman Show) from Paramount since I've first seen their advertisements.

This, to me, was like the HD-DVD deal for South Park w/ the Xbox 360 add-on. Why do I want to see construction paper in HD? That's just me, though.

Actually, you assumed because I was asking for info that I wanted to buy it; I don't. It's not because of puppets either as I'd surely buy The Dark Crystal. My deal is that I really I like things Parker & Stone but they're intended to look like garbage, and be half-ass so it's kind of antithetical to put them out on HD. I'm wondering why Paramount would do an advert for HD with this flick, particularly this early on. I know a lot of people like the movie so maybe they figure they can nab a whole lot of sales (?), maybe it's just an easy film to upgrade for HD release (?). I'm not sure; I was just fishing for info because the whole matter piqued my curiosity. It seems a strange choice. Then again, "only a woman is allowed to touch me there" in uncompressed audio might be amusing .

p.s. Maaaatt Daaaamon.

I want it. I never bought the DVD... I think it will look decent based on the Showtime HD broadcasts.

I'm always mystified with this kind of statements..

Why release it on high definition 35mm film then?

That's oversimplifying it a lot and the statement sounds like it comes from someone who is not a South Park fan. I love South Park. I don't own a 360 but another friend and South Park Fanatic does. I had him download the 720P free episode and it was great in HD. The colors are crisper and it just looks better I would buy all the seasons again on blu-ray.

I've never missed an episode of South Park. When the show debuted my family had satellite TV, and my friends in town had cable, which didn't carry Comedy Central. I would record each episode on VHS and each weekend we'd all watch it at someone's house. I was wearing the T-shirts before anyone else at my school knew the show existed.

Yes, it's an oversimplification, but my main point is that I don't watch that show for the quality of the animation, just the content.

USA Why puppets (or South Park, for that matter) in HD, you ask...?

I love how people dismiss the amazing touches that HD bluray can bring to ANY film.. IF DONE RIGHT...!! Yes I also once wondered why even bother to bluray SOUTH PARK, till I found a cheap used copy (cheaper than DVD new.. I love Dimple!) and was hooked - the sound quality, the fine detail, noticing the fibers of the constrution paper and true color they intended for each character/background - seemingly for the first time - I couldnt deny, as much as I didnt want to justify its existence - it has a place... high def can (in my opinion) make anywhere from just 'an improvement!' to "HOLY CRAP!!" - so I know if I enjoyed construction paper the textures and sound of T.A.:W.P. is MUCH ANTICIPATED in my (albeit nerdy) book!!

It's being released on blu-ray here in the UK as a Steelbook by Play.com.

They don't have it listed as a Play.com exclusive so it could be a general release for the steelbook but the Amaray would be a general release anyway so amazon UK would be a possibility.

We have no more details than that, no release date yet or whether it will be the uncut version either.

Paramount sucks. A clip from this movie was shown on early Paramount Blu-rays. The HD master is probably ready to go, sitting on a hard drive.

I suspect a Stateside release of this pic on BD just got less likely.
