Default Spidey 3 November ?

high def digest

Quote:
While the release date indicated in the advert -- "Le 2 Novembre 2007" -- obviously refers to the planned French release for the disc, such a date would certainly make sense as a target for worldwide release, given the film's theatrical debut four months earlier.

Default Spiderman 3 is coming to Blu-ray in Nov 2007

It seems spiderman is coming in Nov 2007:

A tantalizing promotional insert included in the French DVD version of 'Spider-Man 2.1' includes the first official mention of a Blu-ray release date for 'Spider-Man 3.'

PLUS, if you have PS3 and have a HK account setup, Spiderman 3 Trailer in HD is available to download from playstation store.

It's been rumored more than once, that all three Spidey flicks will most likely debut at the same time as a box set of some sort. This would make sense being that November is the start of the holiday season.

All I know is I'll be snatching them up and will be prepared for what ever lossless audio Sony decides to give us. (Dolby THD or LPCM), hopefully DTHD at 24/48.

A box set only will hurt sales. Yes, I would purchase the box set but many simply can't or won't. I hope Sony realizes this and sells all three separately as well.

I still think Sony should have at least released Spidey1 or 2 on BD to coincide with the release of Spidey 3 next month.

Agreed. Box-set only is a really bad idea. And releasing 1, or 1 & 2 just before 3 hits theaters seems like a no-brainer. Maybe the discs weren't ready.

paidgeek already said in the Insider's thread here that both 1 & 2 would be released by year's end, but not in 2nd Quarter.

Whether they are box set only, or available individually with the 3rd movie is anyone's guess at this point. I do suspect that Sony realizes the importance of these titles and that they will produce state of the art discs for all three movies which fully utilize the BD format.

I think they should release a box set as well as the 3rd movie by itself. This would allow those who don't want to upgrade their existing movies to just pick up the third film.

Releasing all three individually (first) and then the box in time for holiday shopping seems like a really good idea. Why bad?

I'd hold out for the box, especially if there is any content advantage or cost advantage.

like the mission impossible set. I liked that because I could get the set of 3 for the retail price of 2 of them. I can't wait for these spiderman movies to come out.

With the release of spidey 2.1 on DVD why couldn't they release spidey 2.1 on blu-ray as well. unless they planning to maybe make a spidey 1.1 and 2.1 into a blu-ray boxset which would be cool.

I'm liking what I'm seeing in the Spiderman 3 trailer posted up on the US PlayStation Store, the facial closeups are particularly delicious.

P.S - does anyone else find that some trailers don't make for smooth 15-second video thumbnails? The Spidey 3 trailer is one such video that has a jerky thumbnail vid made from it.
