Target

Target steel book for me.
I went to Target on Tuesday during my lunch break and all they had were regular combo packs for $22.99. Why am I not surprised? Took a chance and drove to Target yesterday and they ended up having the steel books this time. I was not planning on buying the combo pack if they did not have the steel book in stock.

Target steelbook. Great looking steel and I really love the movie. Not a fan of the best buy packaging.

I was able to get the standard edition through a blu-ray.com member for $16. If that wouldn't have happened, I would have picked up the Walmart edition. The packaging wasn't important to me, just the respective bonus material.

just wondering...

i didn't get a copy of the steelbook so I'm not buying any version for now, but I was wondering.... while looking up the info of the steel in the forum I saw this:

Django Unchained Blu-ray
Target Exclusive until May 16, 2013

Does this mean what I hope it means? I want to know if I should hold up or just buy the case from ebay (around 19 bucks for just the case) and then wait till the movie price drops down.

Thanks for anyone letting me know!

I'm not a fan of loose discs, but I also had a $25.00 reward zone certificate, so BB was a no-brainer. I had to throw in a Monster Rehab just to use the certificate, which made my total after taxes 40 cents for the flick and a cold drink.

The only things I like about the Future Shop steelbook are the front cover and the way the discs are on one side. Target should have done that disc storing method over the "one on each side" with an extra disc flopping around.

In reality though, I like the way the Target steelbook's cover looks, except I wish that the black border was parchment coloured (the color of the font). And I wish that it had a finish to it!!!

Other than that, I'm good.

Does anyone know if the Canadian steelbook has a finish?

I'm curious to watch the WM disc, but I won't be buying it.

I also really want that red Academy sticker on the slipcover!!! Hey, I know this sounds stupid, but can you check to see if the slipcover will fit on the steelbook?

Only 14mm slipcovers will fit over steelbooks. These are regularly found in the U.K., but the rating logos plastered over every conceivable angle ruin them. There's a few in the U.S., but they are most relegated to Disney titles with 4 discs or more.

Originally got the steelbook. Then I realized that I had a $20 online only coupon from Best Buy that was expiring tomorrow & decided to use it on the digipak. I might end up selling the digipak at some point.

I bought the BBY exclusive, and although I debated on the Target edition even after I bought it, I stuck with it, and after looking at the bonus disc, I'm glad I did.

What is actually contained on the disc is a 40-minute feature that deals with the New York Press Conference of the movie. You'll see Jonah Hill, Don Johnson, Kerry Washington, Jamie Foxx, Quentin Tarantino, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, and Walton Goggins sitting in as they answer questions about the movie. The title that the feature is given is misleading, but it's a damn fine press conference to watch.

Sure, the packaging might not the the best, but I think that this is the exclusive to get for the material alone.

I wonder if BBY would have sold a few more copies than they have if they made the packaging the same size as the other retailers?
