Default How many of you buy BD movies without seeing them already?

Even since I jumped into the blu-ray bandwagon, I have been buying BD movies I have never seen before, taking a chance that it'll be a good movie. At times I end up selling it back to the retail for store credit so that I could purchase another movie. This gets pretty expensive having to spend $30 on a movie and later it just sucked then selling it back for only $10 or less. I'm more interested in buying a movie that I have never seen before then watching the movie over again.

Does anyone else buy movies without watching them before? Since BD movies take a long time renting at Blockbuster on-line, I'm craving for new movies to watch every week. My next purchase I'll be buying that I haven't seen would be Night at the Museum. Hopefully this will be a keeper

I always rent at least the regular DVD first. Then, if I like it, I check reviews of the video quality to see if the upgrade is worth it. I'd check the audio quality, but right now I use optical, waiting on HDMI 1.3 receivers for my PS3.

I get movies that I have not seen, can trade them if I don't want to keep them.

Yeah, I bought House of Flying Daggers, but thought it was kaka and decided to list it on ebay. From now on I'm going to try to see the film first before buying.

I'm tempted to get Warriors of Heaven and Earth, but I'd probably end up selling that as well.

You need to shop around if you are getting just $10 for a new release BD. Heck even Ebay is better than that!

And yes I buy sight unseen. I have a 14 month daughter and the $24 is about the same as a movie night before babysitter fees! Less if you throw in dinner.

*LOL* I use the same logic too, if I go watch a movie with my GF, $18 for both tickets, plus pop corn and food, about $25 which is close to a Blu-ray movie. Might as well spend it on a BD and watch it at home where it's just as good only that you don't have the audience.

I buy quite a few without seeing them. I'll usually read some reviews first.

Well since movies don't look on most theaters the way they used to, I don't watch many of them there (I still go to IMAX tho) so some BD purchases are now done w/o having see the movie before.

Sometimes I buy BD that I have not ever seen before, I figure, what the heck, if I don't like it, someone will, I mean I am the only PS3 owner in my neighborhood, so I have people over alot to watch BD movies.

I get a lot of movies with out seeing them, I just read the back, see who the actors are, I am pretty easy when it comes to movies, like just about anything but Horrers/Thrillers

I usually ask some of my friends (they are movie *****s) or check the web on reviews before I buy a BD without seeing it in the theater. The tier rating factors in a little sometimes, especially if it's a high tier rated BD.

I usually download, and if its a good movie, then they get my money and support. If it sucks, they don't get squat. Laws of economics at play
