Default Branded (2012)

Searched high and low (through Search function) and found no threads relating to this movie or it's release. The forum link to the Blu-ray release listing on here is incorrect ("Branded to Kill"/"Tokyo Drifter").

That said, I know roughly that this movie wasn't supposed to be a sci-fi thriller (based on the f-ing fantastic movie trailer), and was more a dystopic mockumentary look at marketing (which I've studied and have appreciated).

Saying that, I know that only the American Blu-ray version has been released.

Amazon: Branded [Blu-ray] (2012)

Does anyone actually own this Blu-ray movie and can they tell me if it's only Region coded to A? I would love to import this from Amazon, but I owning a PS3 (in Australia), I am afraid it will not be able to played.

Any other news of it's release (internationally, in cinemas) or in Region B?

Ouch, 4.5/10. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1368440/?ref_=sr_1

On top of that it only made about $350K in the U.S.

The movie is a bit off of the beaten path, rather reminds me of the way Rubber was accepted. And the copy that I have is Region A locked.

This movie is a must see. It seems like it got buried like They Live.

It's a delightfully weird, lurid little movie that got buried on its theatrical release.

Wish lead actor Ed Stoppard would appeare in more films. He has a pretty good screen presence.

I actually saw this during its one week theatrical release. Did a double feature with The Cold Light of Day, had the theater to myself the whole afternoon. Great movie, clearly ran up against the limits of their budget, and rights clearance issues.

If you like Branded, I highly recommend the completely bonkers short film "Logorama". It's available on this:

and worth the price by itself, imo.
