Default 48 Hours - worst quality BD I've seen yet

Fortunately, I only paid $4.99 for it with the Best Buy dvd to blu update coupon. I watched it last night and this is the worst transfer I've ever seen on Blu-ray yet. First of all, there is hardly any more resolution than DVD and the transfer was clearly mishandled. Tons of mosquito noise, frozen artifacts, and harsh video noise throughout. Some noise reduction was also applied to some scenes, but not severe which is maybe the only positive aspect. The color also is very unnatural and severely limited - reminding me of an older VHS-like release. There is an unnatural greenish-yellow like tint (not in a deliberate stylized manner). Whatever master was used was in horrible condition. If you have this on DVD, I wouldn't bother. Just a heads up.

Yeah, it's mediocre at best. I also bought it recently for cheap, but only because I didn't have the DVD.

I haven't seen this on Blu, but CADDYSHACK was the worst I've seen, even TEEN WOLF looks better!

The first Dirty Dancing BD release has to be the worst transfer ever! The reviewer on this site only gave it a 1 star for video quality.

This is too bad that 48hrs. is not that great of a blu ray, I really like this movie as it one of my all time favorite movies, I still own the THX laserdisc....I would probably upgrade to blu ray but even the rating for this disc on blu ray.com is poor.

I haven't seen the 48 Hrs blu, but I doubt it is near as bad as "The Color of Money" transfer. That is one ugly looking disc.

I thought the Teenwolf transfer was satisfactory.

That sucks, The Color Of Money is a favorite of mine. Too bad that I wont have the opportunity to see it on Blu-Ray since I doubt there will be another pressing with a better transfer.

Considering that the DVD was Non-Anamorphic, this is a "slight improvement". Paramount hasn't handled these movies (Another 48hrs) very good.

Both DVDs are Non-Anamorphic with poor transfers...

I think that Caddyshack looks great, even better than HD-DVD.

For me, as long as movie is even a marginal upgrade from DVD, I'll buy it. I can't stand DVD at this point.

If there is a worse looking transfer than The Truth About Cats and Dogs, I'll buy everyone here a brand new car!

I was under the impression that The Invisible Man TV series Blu-ray firmly established the absolute bottom of the barrel.

I really hope that Paramount make a new transfer on the sequel and not a crap transfer like the first one.

Back to School is 1000 times better looking than TTACAD on blu-ray.

So, now you owe me a car.
