Default Cinemanow Jack Reacher pre-order???

I bought this pre-order card from Best Buy. I redeemed it but it is not UV therefore, it is not showing up in VUDU. Will they add this to UV and will it show up in VUDU then?

No. CinemaNow does not have authorization to sell Paramount movies with UV rights. Hopefully they will work something out soon.

I had heard Cinemanow was bad, but this is just plain ridiculous. Never doing another pre-order.

I hate to defend them, but their pre-orders that were UV enabled worked fine (Bourne Legacy, etc...). I'd say just pull your phone out when you are at best buy and see if there is a UV logo before you pre-order. If not got to walmart. They have Jack Reacher with a bonus UV movie. If you already pre-ordered through bestbuy.com just cancel it. They do not charge you even if you already redeemed the code.

Unfortunately the pre-order was from best buy store. So I already paid 14.99 non-refundable. I called cinemanow and demanded to be compensated for false advertisement because on the back of the card it clearly says that I need to create UV account to be able to watch the movie. So I was under the impression this is UV compatible. He gave me a coupon code for any HD movie purchase.

Anyway, when I pick up the Jack Reacher Combo pack, will they take 14.99 off the price since I already paid that?

I don't mind doing the pre-order through Best Buy that gets you the CinemaNow but I will only do it if the movie is from a studio that CinemaNow can sell UV rights.

I redeemed Django CineamaNow code but there was no UV logo so I get the BD in the mail and redeem the UV code then it shows up twice in my CinemaNow account once with a uv logo and the other without the logo.

Don't ask for the iTunes code because I also used it.

i love this system.. Taken 2 and Bourne worked great. Cinemanow looks great on my PS3 and if the UV doesn't work, one comes with the Blu... WIn WIn WIN

Yeah that infuriates me. My Taken 2 experience was great but Django ruined it for me.

I have a Cinema Now gripe. When the Twilight Blu-ray "complete bundle" released it said on their site "Blu-ray & Digital Copy" I figured that meant iTunes since UV is usually referred to as "Ultraviolet Digital Copy". We bought the bundle thinking it was a great deal at $44.99 and opened the case to find Cinema Now codes. It did specify this on the back of the box, but their website did not show art for the back of the box. I felt like it was really deceiving, its like they knew no one would think it was that great of a deal if it said "Cinema Now Digital Copy".

Can't we just create a standard for DCs? I'm fine with iTunes but I know others prefer UV. Why can't studios just do like Universal and have both in the box? I dont care if you can only redeem it on one or the other to avoid code selling (although, I love buying cheap codes here).

CinemaNow needs to get more studio's to allow them to sell UV rights. I am talking about the same studio's that Vudu has. I liked it when CinemaNow had a glitch that gave you free UV movies but that ended a couple of months ago but only lasted for like 2 days. I prefer the Best Buy pre-orders because I have gotten Best Buy to price match the lowest price BD for their exclusive case and watch the movie early and I know Walmart wouldn't do that.

BTW where do I go to pick it up at Best Buy? Is there a special counter where they will have my copy held or do I just go in pick up a copy from shelf, take it to register and they'll knock 14.99 off after seeing the receipt?

Unfortunately a digital copy can be UV compatible and still not necessarily be licensed to VUDU or Cinemanow. I got burned the other day when I redeemed the UV code for Ripper Street: Season 1 and couldn't find it in my VUDU account even though the show is available to purchase on there. I called them only to find out the studio(I assume BBC) didn't license it. I'm guessing that's the same reason the UV copy of Africa isn't in my VUDU account either. From now on I'll just avoid BBC UV copies altogether.

As for Jack Reacher, that sucks about Cinemanow. I preordered it through Wal-Mart and it showed up in both my VUDU and Cinemanow accounts on Tuesday, so as long as you don't mind the $24.96 price, that's probably the best route to go with if you wanna get the title early.
