I was hoping this would get one. Guess I will have to get in touch with my Northern brothers or hope for a US or UK release.

I hope this means 2 things:

1) the US gets this
2) IF #1 happens, it's not the same coverart as the standard release.

I would almost consider picking up a Steelbook for this movie. It was rather underrated in theaters (aside some crappy early-on dialogue, the rest was pretty great).

Wow another 2D steelbook, I guess Future Shop doesn't listen to the paying customers much. There were a few threads on the Future Shop forums regarding this issue and they still are releasing 2D steelbooks for a 3D movie. Definitely won't be buying this from FS, I'll gladly shop internationally if they keep this crap up.

Same. I'm sure the US will get the steelbook with the 3D disc.

Men in Black 3, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Amazing Spider-Man all should have gotten 3D steelbooks. I wish they would release 3D steelbooks . What's stopping them?

They should cancel making this steelbook. It would be a waste of production on a less than steller movie. Or at least, I can't think of anyone who really wants this.

As far as i know this is the only steelbook announced for this movie worldwide could turn out to be a keeper.

From a steelbook collector's point of view - sure, I guess there would be some value. But let's face it, if this doesn't see the light of day, nobody's going to be upset about it.

I just don't think this movie deserves the treatment. Besides, I'm looking foward to future WB releases on steelbook. Like, Man of STEEL.

I don't think they did at Futureshop in Canada, just Best Buy in the US.

Ha...looking forward to a steelbook release of a movie thats not even out yet...now what happenes if Man of Steel is utter garbage??? Would you still buy??? or would you buy just to try and cash in on the "superman" franchise???

Yes - lets be honest a steelbook for under-performing movies could be seen as a selling gimmick...BUT take away those average movies and there would be VERY FEW steelbooks on the market - there's a long list of titles that in reality arent worthy of a steelbook - yet they still got one!

Oh and last thing.....just because YOU didnt enjoy Giant Slayer - doesnt mean others shouldnt.....Man of Steel isnt my cup of tea - but I accept that theres many out there who are anticipating it's release....

The Man of Steel early reviews have been extremely positive. Some reviewer even claimed it is the best picture of the year. Here are some of the points from his review. (This review is from a few months ago, NO SPOILERS)

* Imagine a Nolan story with Snyder effects/action.

* It’s the best movie of the year.

* There’s TONS of action with Superman kicking all kinds of ass in his suit.

* The cape is CG’d most of the time so it can look awesome.

* They have intentionally left out most of the the Super action in trailers to save it.

* It’s not nearly as dour and serious as the trailers suggest.

* The movie is complete, minus the 3D post-conversion, which is currently taking place.

Hey Chris,

I just feel that new release steelbooks should be chosen for movies that warrant the appeal for one. I can't see this one flying off the shelves. But you know, whatever.
