Default BD+ Cracked??

http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/te...00/7314276.stm

Slysoft says the new version of its AnyDVD programme allows users to make "backup security copies" of high definition movies.

The claim is a blow to Sony which developed the Blu-ray format.

The discs are protected by an anti-piracy system called BD+.

When it launched in 2007, developers boasted it would not be cracked for 10 years.

Sony declined to comment.

SlySoft says it hacked the BD+ technology in November.

It decided to wait for the result of the "format war" between Blu-ray and HD DVD before releasing a full product.

BD+ is designed to react to attempts on its technology.

Its developers say they can re-lock copied discs, making them unusable in the future.

SlySoft reckons it is prepared for this.

Peer van Heuen from the company said: "The worst-case scenario is our boss locks us up with only bread and water in the company dungeon for three months until we are successful again."

I don't know if BD+ was used on the disc but the Blu-ray version of I, Robot is already on the 'net to download.

Well technically it sounds like they cracked the code for a particular movie and now the code will be changed again. The fact that they said they may be working on the new code for another 3 months after it changes means they have not broke BD+. Cracking a couple titles means nothing if you don't have a program that will break ANY disc anytime......which even they admit they can't do (it appears).

screw cracking bd+... We'll lose FOX if that happens. Can't people shell out a few bucks and help the economy out. We sure as hell need it.

that's the beauty of blu-ray. they don't.

Look I'm not an economist. I never claimed to be. I just think we should support the format. If you don't think so, then you're on the wrong site buddy.

Default BD+ Crack

Here Here, I buy all my Blu-Rays and do not EVER intend to pirate them or download from any site that has Pirated copies of Blu-Ray titles. I mean come on and think about it people, there is NO reason to backup Blu-Rays, DUH!!! only reason to back them up is to STEAL! period end of discussion. I use to copy movies alot, and you know what I missed the actually feeling of helping out instead of feeling like a thief. I don't want to bite the hand that feeds me good movies, otherwise Blu-Ray will dwindle and we will see less and less movies come out; not something that I want to see happen.

The problem in this is that 0.1% of people use it for Real backup actually own all their movie. 99.9% other Rent and Copy....

Olivia: You are the weakest link, goodbye. (laughter)
Stewie: Ha ha ha! Oh gosh that's funny! That's really funny! Do you write your own material? Do you? Because that is so fresh. You are the weakest link goodbye. You know, I've, I've never heard anyone make that joke before. Hmm. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference, reference that outside the program before. Because that's what she says on the show right? Isn't it? You are the weakest link goodbye. And, and yet you've taken that and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. God what a clever, smart girl you must be, to come up with a joke like that all by yourself. That's so fresh too. Any, any Titanic jokes you want to throw at me too as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity. God you're so funny!

Sorry I just thought of this quote when I read your post but do agree with you.

Personally I hate Burned discs not so much of the concept because a free movie is good but the reason we all collect movies or atleast why I do is because I look at my movies as assets (Collectibles) and love the experience of purchasing, and having the physical copy of the Blu ray disc.

I knew it would only be a matter of time.
The only problem is the price of the media and the burner

From page 2:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=43933

Note how Wicky mentions that the security feature that allowed Slysoft to do this has already been patched.

BD+ is far from cracked. They managed to extract a single movie from a single disc with great effort which apparently won't work anymore anyways. So, what's the big deal?

I agree with the supporting of Blu-ray. People shouldn't boast about cracking a layer of protection on anything. They should blacklist Slysoft.

As for having a back-up copy of my movies... eh. I take REALLY good care of my movies. DVD or Blu-ray. Harddrives will fail and crash WAY before my movies become too scratched up to play. The only time I have ever ripped a movie to my harddrive was so I could convert it to either AVI or MPEG then transfer it to my MP3 player with video playback. And with a small 2 or 3 inch screen the whole high-def resolution is useless.

Most of us have better things to do with their time than to backup copies of their movies.

When I (we) buy a BD movie, we buy a copy. ONE copy. That is all we own. We do not own the movie. Copying that movie from that disc for ANY reason is thievery. Even if you copy it for yourself. If you want five copies, buy five copies.

Anyone trying to justify otherwise has a thiefs mentality. And is wrong. It cannot be debated. Anyone willing to argue otherwise, proves himself a thief AND a fool.

Let 'em rip.
