I saw Marathon Man when I was in high school, and I still think about it every single time I visit a dentist.

I'd love to revisit the movie, though.

Great News. I cancelled my pre-order at Amazon UK (region free). Will be released in the UK in early June. I'm cheap, so to save a few bucks I'll gladly wait a few months and get the U.S. version. Cover art is exactly the same. Amazon UK also has Escape from Alcatraz (region free) available for pre-order in early June. Hopefully....hopefully....WB will announce that for a U.S. release before the end of this year. I'll wait and see before I buy it from Amazon UK.

These don't look bad to me. The screenshots look very much like they should for this film.

It's sourced from the DVD master created in 2002 and has all the same debris and crap all over it.

Then no sale for me. Love the movie but I'm not buying the same product again just because it has a Blu-ray logo.

Pretty much most of the catalog titles are DVD masters. Unless there is a new restoration they pretty much only remaster the titles they know they will sell, like Jaws and such. The studios really have no interest in catalog titles and are not going to remaster everything for a format that is not doing expectionally well. Honestly, if Warner did not step in to release the Paramount catalogs we probably would not see Marathon Man released in the states. This is it, this is probably the last go around for catalog titles on physical media, and we are only going to get what is easiest to replicate.
