I don't remember what the Police Story films were like.

Normally, I despise revenge plot movies.
Great but difficult are certainly as polarising as one needs to describe their experience lol. I also found it a bit difficult to stomach even with their little explanations at the end. It just lacked a little 'soul' of what Police Story is imo but i did as mention enjoy the more serious take Jackie did and it worked.

I'd actually hope he return to the older more light hearted style mixed in with the new more edgy stuff when called for though. I think he's at the stage where he could really blend the two and bring it all together.

Just looking forwards to seeing where they take the franchise now though

I just wonder if this will pick up after 'Police Story 4: First Strike', which I think it might because the poster sort of hints at it being more that way. His character looks more like the one from that series compared to his character in 'New Police Story', who looked a lot more hardened and rough. I'm just happy to see him doing a new 'Police Story' film altogether, but I really do hope this is a new story of Chan Ka-Kui.

I don't think much of the poster, but foreign markets aren't exactly known for making them conform to Hollywood styles.

I'm looking forwards to the movie, but don't know how much i'll enjoy it till a trailer lands.

Damn!

That was not at all what I was expecting, and not in a bad way. That looks pretty incredible! I thought it was going to be more like the first two, but it looks it's taking what 'New Police Story' did, and taking it even darker and more character driven. I can't wait to see this.

I thought it was going to be an action comedy like the first two, but I guess it's following New Police Story, which is cool I guess.

This looks awesome!

Jackie is capable of dramatic roles, such as "Crime Story" and more recently, "The Shinjuku Incident". It makes sense for him to back off from the more physically demanding roles, but he's still a capable actor.

Not to crazy about the title. I remember reading a bit about this a while back and I think it's not a continuation to the others. It's a different protagonist and only connected to the series my name and star.

And I also hope it isn't cut like CZ12 was during it's US theatrical run. I would like to see this in the theater if possible if it's uncut.

Screw this! We need Rush Hour 4 to make up for the debacle that was Rush Hour 3.
