Default Favorite Chocolates from Around the World!

This is a thread where we could share our favorite chocolates from around the world. Share with everyone your favorite brands and where they are from. Tell us also as to where you think the best chocolates are made of in the world.

Personally, I love Japanese chocolates. I love the texture and the taste and just how perfect they're making them so that it's not too bland or too sweet. I love the Lotte brand, so if anyone wants to send me some, I'll give you my address, LOL!

If there's one thing that I'd like to have right now though and is truly one of my favorites, it would have to be Cadbury Flake.

The flaky texture and delicious taste of this is extremely addicting, and it's sad that World Market doesn't carry it anymore. The only way I could have some of it is if I'm willing to pay like $10 shipping for 3 pieces or something from sellers here in the US (and I heard that some aren't even selling the real thing). Anyone in the UK wants to send me some?

Give me a good ole' Hershey bar with almonds!

A friend of mine from Germany brought me some chocolate the last time he came to visit-which was delicious-but I can't remember the name!

i hate to say this but US chocolates suck compared to european chocolates. try Milka with hazelnuts, and you'll probably like that better than a Hersheys bar.

btw, these Kinder chocolates are so damn good as well.

I love Terry's Chocolate Oranges. I even had the good pleasure of having a raspberry-flavored one once, and I thought it was awesome. Sadly, I only ever saw them for one instance.

Cadbury's Flakes are the bomb, especially in ice cream.

I used to enjoy the Cadbury Cream Eggs, but kinda stopped because they are a little too heavy in texture and sweetness.

Had Aero bars now and then. They're great.

I love the Chunky brand Kit Kats that have flavors in them, like hazelnut and peanut butter and stuff. I think they're only sold in England.

I like Snickers, Galaxy, Ritter Sport, After Eights, Lindt, Godiva, and Ghirardelli.

Belgian chocolates and truffles are probably some of the best I've had.

Try one of your local British shops. Most of them import a lot of the Cadbury bars from the UK.

their shipping charges are outrageous though. one time i was really craving for flake so i kept on looking online and finally found one that was selling it. i had to pay close to $20 shipped for 4 pieces. i just can't spend that much money even though i love this product.

Ritter Sport (marzipan only), from Germany, is the best candy bar IMO, it beats out any domestic bar in the USA. As for fancy stuff, See's all the way. I also only like dark chocolate, hate the milk stuff.

Really want to try a Raspberry Habanero Truffle but at 21.00 for 6 pieces excluding shipping I don't know if I can bite. Literally!

I had cayenne infused chocolate...not a big fan of that combo, but it was interesting.

May need to stop by at a local chocolatier who's from Belgium. Hmmm!

I've tried a Theo spicy dark chocolate and it was underwhelming, I love spicy foods and think I just wanted a bit more kick.

The next time I do some serious traveling again, I'll have to make sure and hit more sweet shoppes! Too busy hitting the discos and bars in my youth, lol!

So true, and good taste that man! Many great things come from the U.S, but unfortunately chocolate isn't one of them.

The chocolate on the Kinder Eggs is the best of the lot. I always get some Milka from the airport to eat on the plane when I'm travelling. Toblerone too.

I love Cadbury's so much I went to Bourneville to Cadbury World and made some chocolate. Wicked lol. Just had a Crunchie too infact!

Hotel Chocolat do some nice boxes too, though I haven't had any in a while.

Edit: Just remembered that Ghirardelli does some nice chocolate. I stayed in their old factory in San Fran last year ( Fairmont Ghirardelli Square) with the chocolate shop underneath it which was dead handy!!

another great example of this is maltesers compared to whoppers.

Not into artsy fartsy chocolate but my wife got me into Green & Blacks dark chocolate with almonds, gorgeous stuff.
On my travels I do like to try the local stuff, I remember crispy M & Ms came out stateside and I had to try them, they were not nice and eventually came out in the UK a few years after.
Had to try Twinkie bars after the Ghostbusters reference.
American sweets and sodas are available from online retailers and even some supermarkets over here but they are at extortionate prices.
