Sounds low to me but it really depends how low to the ground your sitting and speaker type can play into it... Dts, Dolby and THX all have recommended heights you can look up.

I need to get another loveseat but I forgot you need to factor that in as well.. some are hard and some have soft cushions.

The one I'm looking at now lists Seat Height: 20"

27" still sounds really low... Mine are 49". THX recommends 2 feet or higher above the listener.

If you're talking about your front L&R speakers, the rule of thumb is tweeters at ear level while you're seated. When I had stand mounted speakers, I had my wife measure floor to ear level while I was seated. I then measured the bottom of the speaker to the middle of the tweeter then subtracted that from the floor to ear height and bought stands that had that height.

Well the thing is if I put them on stands then my screen would have to be smaller.. as in like smaller then 110" or otherwise they would be in the way. I will do more testing when I get the projector fixed.

If you don't have the room to place them at the sides of the screen, other options are to angle them up to where the tweeters are aimed at ear level or get an acoustically transparent screen and place them behind it.

Try to get the tweeter of your speakers at about ear height. If you can't try to do it as much as possible.
