I cant wait to get this. I would think that this will be released around september. I dont really care what the price is i will pick this one up day 1. Hopefully we get a case similar to Die Hard's/Planet Earth. I dont want a tin can case, i like to keep the cases as similar as possible.

I just sold my tin set to a friend for $30 so good timing. I would love to see Rome also.

I think I'll need to watch my DVD set again to determine if this needs a rebuy.

Depending on the price, it'll definitely be a series I'd like to own.

Like others have said I'm worried about how much it will cost. Cause if it is out in time for Christmas I would like to get one for myself and one for my dad but not if it will be more than $150

Don't hold your breath. There's a small and dedicated fanbase, but it's never done that well for them on TV or on video

Quote:
It was $200 when it first came out on DVD. Im guaranteeing at least $300
It was $119.99 when it came out. I know that for a fact cause I got it for $65 or so

EDIT (here's the press release) http://www.dvdfile.com/news/web_wire...fbrothers.html

I would not be shocked at that price. I'm really hoping they play it smart and go for $99.99. Either way it'll be a huge launch week loss leader. Expect $74.99 a lot of places, or $60 or so if they go for $99.99

Fantastic news, I hope the price isn't too ridiculous. This has got to be one of the greatest WWII (mini-series or otherwise) films I've ever seen.

AWESOME news. Thank you for sharing!!

On a side note, I saw a blurb about Hank's project, a Pacific-themed Band of Brothers that is shooting right now. Anyone hear about when that is scheduled to air? Does late 2008 sound right?

Band of Brothers is my favorite piece in my 2000+ title DVD collection. I try not to do a lot of Blu-ray replacements for DVDs I already own, but I'm absolutely going to get BoB!!!

Count me in for Band of Brothers on Blu-ray. I pre-ordered the DVD for about $60 from amazon.ca back when the dollar was a lot stronger.

Are you sure it's shooting? So far as I know they haven't even cast it yet
