As a token of our appreciation, we have credited your account with $40.00 which equals 50% of the total amount you've spent converting 10 or more discs. You can use your credits towards any purchase, rental, or disc to digital transaction on our service.

I got this as well. I am curious however if this is credit is being extended to everyone, or just those who actually received beta invites by email.

Yeah, I got it earlier this afternoon. I can't believe how much store credit they gave me. A very generous surprise from VUDU.

I doubt it. Isn't VUDU owned(or co-owned) by Wal-Mart? Last I checked, that company was doing just fine. And now VUDU stickers are on nearly every new DVD and Blu-ray movie on their shelves which looks more like they're expanding the program, not downsizing or eliminating it. Hell, they even finally got Disney to come on board.

I'm happy for people who got the windfall.

I never ever gave Vudu any money so I guess I don't qualify.

Which is ok too. I don't have a use for Vudu apart from letting other people watch my movies without borrowing them.

I haven't received any emails, but I just checked the Balance & History section of my account on the Vudu website, and I have a promotional credit of $35.50 that was added today.

I never received a beta invite. I just downloaded the software and starting using it back in January.

I tested the service, but I didn't "convert" anything so I don't think I'll get anything. I wish I did convert something now

Vudu should hook me up for actually creating the thread about it, and referring others to it

Yea that was definitely tongue in cheek. I am just not used to any company being this nice!!

And I am sooooo psyched about Disney!!!!!!

According to this Endgadget article, they are running a promotion though August 31 now that the program is out of beta:

So basically Vudu applied this promo to our prior purchases as well in the form of credits.
