I would look at the Denon 2808 or 3808.

I have owned an 803, 805 (briefly) and currecntly a 3808. I always loved the ease of use of the onkyos, but the sound quality is (again, my opinion) no where near what the denon offers. I had and loved the 803, and so jumped straight in to the 805 and found the sound to be hollow, bright and just obnoxious at best. I fussed with settings for about 2 weeks and just could not make it sound good, so i took it back and lived with my 803.
I have some experience with Denon and so gave the 3808 a try (first Denon with >2 HDMI) and loved it. The sound is full and true and neither bright nor dull. The image scalar works wonders on any source and the ethernet port... ![]() |
