Default Best Buy Help

I have a friend who can get me an employee discount at Best Buy, but they do not sell Onkyo. Is there anything they offer that is equal to an Onkyo TX-SR875?

I would look at the Denon 2808 or 3808.

Is there a site that compares these models or are they all pretty much the same? I have always had Onkyo, but the employee price is too good too pass up.

I have owned an 803, 805 (briefly) and currecntly a 3808. I always loved the ease of use of the onkyos, but the sound quality is (again, my opinion) no where near what the denon offers. I had and loved the 803, and so jumped straight in to the 805 and found the sound to be hollow, bright and just obnoxious at best. I fussed with settings for about 2 weeks and just could not make it sound good, so i took it back and lived with my 803.

I have some experience with Denon and so gave the 3808 a try (first Denon with >2 HDMI) and loved it. The sound is full and true and neither bright nor dull. The image scalar works wonders on any source and the ethernet port... streaming music is nice and all, firmware updates too, but the absolute fits it gives my g/f when she tries to use the 3808 and i manipulate it via that ethernet plug over our network is just priceless. All in all (and mischeif aside) it is a very sturdy, feature packed and well performing piece of equipment.
