have you seen all these?

ive been wanting to get Fantastic 4 1 and 2 for a year now, and finally did two days ago. very happy with that, wish i had gotten them sooner.

mr. and mrs. smith is a very solid pq film. it's filled with action, 'sleek' action if you will, making it perfect for blu ray.

i wouldn't blind buy Alvin

Personally I'd go with

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Underworld 1 and 2

and Live Free or Die hard

they all look great and have awesome audio tracks.

I have all of those and thought they were all good (enjoyable).

They all have good PQ/SQ also.

Alvin and the Chipmunks is a good family movie and it's pretty funny. In my case though, it's probably a little more appealing since I grew-up listening to their records.

I'd say Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Live Free or Die Hard are safe bets.

Fantastic Four was pretty bad, couldn't bring myself to watch the sequel.

Personally I'd go with:
Hellboy
Underworld 1 & 2
Live Free or Die Hard

Those have the most re-watch value to me.

I personally wouldn't buy any of those, so my taste in movies differs from yours, but I'd look at the Movies tab, and read the user reviews for some guidance.

Same here... My taste seems to differ from a large number of people here.
However, if I were to add a few to your list of considerations (assuming you don't already have them), I would say:

The Rock
Crimson Tide
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Any POTC
Memoirs of a Geisha

I couldn't decide on a 4th (except no Alvin), but I'd go:
  1. Hellboy
  2. Underworld
  3. Underworld: Evolution

LOL -- my options were limited from the get-go.

Just wasn't really a big fan of the Die Hard movies after the 2nd one, wouldn't recommend Alvin on a blind buy (with the other choices), haven't seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith yet (the horror!), and the FF movies (though I liked them) again, the others I enjoyed more. So there ya go!

But yes, I enjoy my demons.

Under no circumstances should you not get Die Hard I just watched this for the first time on Blu-ray (despite buying the collection the day it came out, I also bought the unrated DVD and had only watched that) and it is freaking AMAZING. The DTS 1.5mbps track, for 1.5mbps (ok, I'll admit it shames some lossless tracks), kicks some serious ass, and the PQ is top notch.

I would also highly recommend Hellboy.

Yeah, but is the movie good?

I hated Die Hard With a Vengeance...

It's much more action oriented than WAV . . . the villain isn't as good, but overall I'd say it's a more entertaining flick.
