Old Universal Codes Redeeming in UV

I was just able to use the iTunes / Windows media codes for the following movies to get a UV HDX copy via VUDU..

Scarface (From Steelbook)
Out of Africa (From Digibook)
The Sting (From Digibook)
Big Lebowski (From Digibook)

However I could not get this to work for

All Quiet on the Western Front
American Pie
American Pie 2
Back to the Future
Back to the Future Part II
Back to the Future Part III
Billy Elliot
Born on the Fourth of July
Coraline BD
Death Race
Erin Brockovich

Yep, the older ones have been hit or miss since Universal officially jumped on board with UV. It's been discussed throughout a number of different threads. It doesn't hurt to give the ones you have a try and see if they work.

I wish I didn't throw those codes in the recycle bin....

I just recently went through all my discs and found many codes I forgot to redeem. So, I redeemed all and recycled the paper with the codes.

I think I had read something about this so I tried a few like my American Pie codes... those didn't work.

Oh well....

A while back when Wal-Mart were selling Universal titles for $6. I got Sanctum and I was able redeem the code at the VUDU site.

If you are redeeming these with iTunes, you will need to redeem them at Vudu first. Otherwise they won't work if you redeem with iTunes first.

Yep. All of mine that have worked had been redeemed in iTunes long ago.

This thread is discussing old digital copies that were originally only for iTunes or Windows Media Player, with no mention of Vudu or UV (many of them were released before Vudu and UV were around). Chances are, for anyone who uses digital copies, these were redeemed via one of those two a long time ago. But some of them still work through Vudu.

That's too bad. I guess Universal may have removed some of the titles/codes from working. I redeemed my code from Public Enemies successfully in Vudu sometime last fall.

These are the ones that worked for me last fall when I went through my collection and tried them all out:

- The 40-Year-Old Virgin
- The Big Lebowski
- In Bruges
- Inglorious Basterds
- Public Enemies

Also, the more recent Target exclusive SteelBook editions of the first three Bourne movies, which included what was only listed as an iTunes/Windows media code, all redeemed in Vudu (but they redeemed as SD rather than HDX).

I remember these not working:

- Dawn of the Dead (2004)
- Unleashed
- Wanted
- The Wolfman (2010)

I redeemed To Kill a Mockingbird back in March and got VUDU HDX! They must've changed it recently. American Pie and American Pie 2 as well.
