Default Dualshock 3 RELEASED! NEW Update

http://blog.us.playstation.com/

Quote:
Rumble is back with the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller for PLAYSTATION 3. These are shipping to store shelves as we speak, so be on the lookout for them next week. Now I know that the list of compatible games is the most important thing to you, so we’re including that at the bottom of this post. The titles with an asterisk in the list below will require a patch in order to activate the rumble feature. The patch will automatically download to your PS3 if your console is connected online. If you are not connected online, check our PlayStation Knowledge Center for more information.
We will be launching a web page on the PlayStation website later this morning dedicated to informing you of what titles use force feedback. This list will be expanding as new titles become compatible, so be sure to be sure to check back. You can also keep an eye out for this icon:

This will be located on all new software releases that are DUALSHOCK 3 compatible.
Just to give you a small refresher course, the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller includes pressure sensors that rumble with each action. SIXAXIS technology is also included, so you can still use motion control, and the controller features Bluetooth technology for wireless gameplay. You can pick it up at any of the major retailers and at a cost $54.99 MSRP.

Here’s the complete list of titles supporting the DUALSHOCK 3 at launch:
SCEA - Formula One Championship Edition* (PS3)
SCEA - MotorStorm* (PS3)
SCEA - PAIN (PSN)

Had my white one for a LONG time now but I will pick one up to replace my black Sixaxis. Seems silly to have to make a advertisement icon to show off a feature that should have been there to begin with, oh well just sour grapes glad to see it back.

I plan on buying 1 or 2 of these next week for sure! Maybe pick up Uncharted or even a PSP + Crisis Core as well.

sad not to see conflict on that list, and

I wonder how many of the regular sixaxis controllers will end up being traded at Gamestop

I already have a white, black, and a satin silver one (along with steel on the way).

Is the US getting any other colors?

I figure that if I buy 2 controllers, than I will have 4 controllers. Our 2 main ones will be the Dualshock 3 controllers that my wife and i will use. Then if we have friends over, they use the Sixaxis controllers (unless they beat us to the punch ). Not really worth $10- store credit to me, I'd prolly buy 4 eventually anyways.

Is there any word on how long the batteries on these last compared to the Sixaxis? And what are the updates to the rumble pack I heard about? I thought they redesigned it so it would be capable of more.
How much heavier than the sixaxis is this one too?

I heard there exactly the same, and the redesign stuff was just blubber spilt out by immersion hoping to convince fans to convince Sony that they deserve more money.

The few reviews I read, I don't remember where they were now, they said the battery life was the same, and they weren't that much heavier than the SixAxis (which really surprised me).

Cool.
Looks like a good upgrade to me (but I am sure not everyone agrees).

Anyone know if they are going to replace the Sixaxis controllers that come with the PS3 with a dualshock 3?

I'm really hoping they're heavier. I still haven't gotten used to the light, cheap feeling of the SixAxis. They feel like third party knock offs.
