Who else besides me is looking forward to this game? I played Morrowind on the first Xbox and really enjoyed the style of it, and it's open world exploration. The first and only completely open world game like that I've played. I'm looking forward to playing a more up to date version of the game.

More info and some game play footage

I would be excited, but I don't play online games.

I've been kind of on the fence about playing online myself, wasn't really planning to much. But seeing how there are some games I want to play that are only online, I may do it at least for a time, and as long as I'm having internet anyway, for now at least... Also, I want access to the downloadable content, free games, and upgrades to existing games. Currently looking into getting a much better internet connection than I have now. So far it's looking good. But I don't know for how many years I will have it. But I'll be able to enjoy it for a few years anyway if it works out.

I kind of figured since online is in the title of this game, there would be no offline play. But wasn't completely sure about that.

If it's not subscription based, yeah I'll give it a shot. However If I have to pay a monthly fee, no thanks! Already paying for internet and a PS Plus subscription. Not paying yet ANOTHER fee on top of that.

I'm in... I played Skyrim more than any other game in the current gen, so I'd be up for more on next gen. Skyrim was on the 360 though - the PS3 version was all kinds of trouble for me. Hope they learned from their mistakes for the PS4.

i still play Skyrim today and have racked up around 1500 hours playtime but I feel that I may not like Es: online because I liked Syrim so much, if that makes sense. I have never played an online rpg either and am worried it will be more about combat than exploration.

Good point. Is the extra fee for an online game like that common?

What kind of trouble?

According to this article the power of the PS4 could allow for a world so large, that you could go from Skryim to Morrowind, and also to other lands in the same game. That would be pretty damn cool. I have no idea if that's actually the case with this new one though.

Also in a game like this, I'm hoping that even if it's online one could just go exploring on their own. Like they are talking about being able to do with Destiny.

Crashes, freezing, general slowness as the the save file got bigger. Others had the same the problems on PS3. Didn't have a single glitch on the 360 version.

Oh, that would be vary annoying! Certainly hope that problem is fixed. That's like paying full price for a new game or movie that's already too scratched up to play. With the cost of new games, there should be some kind of recall or refund if they put out a faulty product.

So has it been revealed if a subscription is required yet. It's a big point for me. If not I'll pre-order it now.

That's what I'm waiting to hear on too. If it's required, I'll say no thanks and pre order The Witcher 3 instead!

I did a little looking and found this interesting interview and game play footage. They brought up the question about whether or not it's going to be free to play on the consoles. But as of the recording of this video they still don't want to tell us that.

Here is the video, it's kind of long but there is a lot more info about the game than the trailer. When I get time I'll see what more I can find out about it. Edited the video into the original post as well. That way it's easy to find.

The Elder scrolls games have always been ripe for a MMO, but i'm just hoping it manages to stand up on its own and provide the fun and enjoyment we expect from the single player versions.

I personally don't have a fast enough net connection yet, and maybe won't for a very long while, so i'll probably have to give all these great MMO types or any multiplayer titles a miss

I think I'd prefer to play it in single player offline. But I guess that could change if I found some fun people I enjoy playing with a lot. I looked into the fibre optic internet service, and talked with the people I share internet with about it. They seem to be for switching over and splitting the cost, so it might be a go. I know it's available in my state, but I've yet to call and talk to a provider about it. I hope it's available in my area of the state. Should be, I'm not far from a major city so you would think so. Thanks a lot on the advice on that.

You'd be surprised. Fibre optic around here is very hit or miss. You go over a block or two and bam you got fibre optic. Go a few more blocks and bam it's gone. Seems like only in certain sections. The problem lies on if the wires for it are run our not.

Meh, I'm not a big MMO fan and I'd rather wait on the next single player Elder Scrolls game.

I DO hope they add a 2-4 player co-op option to the next one though. Would be tons o fun to have a few people taggin along in dungeons or taking down dragons.

I guess I'll find out then. If not, I'll just figure a way to get a better workable connection than I have now.

Here in the UK, the fibre optic ISPs usually have an online search to see whether you're in a qualifying area. I was talking to a friend today who said it was so popular that at peak times (8pm or so) that packet loss would kick in. Basically shows online players teleporting round the map. That's a very minor gripe for the usual speed & ping issues.

I hope you manage to shop around & get a good deal but make sure to thoroughly check the small print. You'll likely use it a lot more & you don't want to have nasty bandwith limits imposed for downloading X amount of data when limit is Y.

You're in for a treat if all goes well. Buttery smooth gaming & fast updates & downloads . Perfect to play Elder Scrolls Online.
