This is great news! I'll definitely be picking this one up. Hopefully they will start bringing out a lot more older 3D titles to 3D Blu (especially Jaws 3D )

No separate release?

Not likely.

But would be interesting to see who did the conversion--All the "good" conversions have been for theatrical re-release to pay the bills, while the made for disk ones...not so much. Still, raise the banner for 80's 3D!

That's great!!
Amityville 3D has great 3D. It's a shame it isn't released separately but I quite like the other two movies too so might get this Box Set once its at a reasonable price. :thumbsup"

It's not a conversion. Amityville 3D was originally shot and released in 3D in 1983. This disc is the first time it's being released as such on Blu-ray. There's about 8 well known 3D films (mostly from 1983) that haven't properly been released. I don't expect Amity 3D to look great, but I expect it to look right.

D'oh! I keep forgetting to use the word "Restoration" when referring to existing Golden and Silver Age 3D! (And "Re-rendering" when it comes to vintage Pixar titles.)
Warner has rooted the word into my subconscious.

The correct word in this case would describe a Native 3D release, not converted. Hopefully it will also have a restoration.

But if it's "solving" the problem of 3D that can only be shown in projectors on old equipment, it's a "Restoration" of keeping the film from being lost. (Like the RealD theatrical prints of Jaws 3D, Dial M and Sadie Thompson being shown at the Expo, and now theoretically able to be shown anywhere.)
At least, think I keep using "Conversion" in the sense of "Polarized->RealD Conversion" of the print itself. And we need more of 'em.

(And also because the Warner post-conversions are dead to me in the theaters, so there's only one definition of the word I think about.)

Good to hear.

The Amityville movies are interesting horror films, so I'll consider this. I also would prefer a separate release for the 3D movie, as they did with Creature from the Black Lagoon 3D, separate from the box set.

I still have to watch the Amityville with the possessed Floor Lamp again one of these years.

Ah, so there's an official release date for House of Wax too is there? That's great news...finally.

With regards Amytiville 3D, the 3D is humungous, at times bordering on ultra stereo. In the opening seance, the parallax is huge, so that the room feels about a mile wide...ha ha. I love that kind of over the top 3D especially for a supernatural film. I just hope they have sorted out the anomalies of mis-alignment etc...I seem to remember there are a few here and there.

Sucks they aren't doing a separate release and only selling it as part of a trilogy.

I'm not a fan of old school 3D films. They have way too much parallax but at the same time not much depth (Journey 1 being a prime example.).
