Default The Amazing Spider-Man 4 - May 4, 2018

Quote:
The tentpoles will hit theaters in summer 2016 and 2018.

Sony has set release dates for its third and fourth Amazing Spider-Man films, which hit theaters on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018, respectively.

The move sets the course for the marquee superhero franchise for the next five years.

The Amazing-Spider Man 2, returning Andrew Garfield in the title role, is currently in production in New York and opens in theaters may 2, 2014.

It's good they're not sticking to trilogy mentality and evolving more...BUT...

I'd rather Marc Webb move onto something else and more interesting, I don't suspect he'll be keeping Spiderman fresh all this time and by movie 3 he'll be burnt out Spidy-wise.

I heard he hadn't planned to direct TASM 2, he was actually going to direct some other film.

I'd be more excited if I were sure the second film was going to be as good or better than the first and that they have a strong story in mind to use in the third film to lead into the fourth. Might be a bit too much Spider-Man but he's one of their most popular characters so there's no way they'll stop making movies for him.

No, he wanted to do the second one, but was under contract still at Fox to do another film. But they worked with Sony to let him come do this, but now he has to do films at fox, or something like that.

Perhaps the 2 films are shot back to back like Peter Jacksondid with Tolkien

We'll probably have a Sinister Six by the fourth movie
And I also predict
[Show spoiler]Gwen Stacy's death (which means no more Emma Stone, NOOOOOOOOOOO )
by the third movie.
I absolutely loved the first one so I can't wait to see what they'll do with the franchise

Good, that means Peter will eventually become the older version. Not just the college version.

That is because they should've cast Emma Stone as MJ. Cause, is Shleene Woodley really that amazing?

Nice to see Sony 4 films deep into a moderately-successful-at-best film series that literally exists to keep the Spider-Man rights from reverting to Disney.

I don't remember ever seeing a movie with Shailene Woodley before so I don't know :\
But I think Emma is great as Gwen so

We don't know that he'll direct them. I doubt he will, especially now that there are two sequels to deal with. He was hesitant about Spider-Man 2. I reckon now that two more are lined up they'll get someone who wants to do them both to allow for some consistency.

She is. She was incredible in the Descendents.

Personally think this is kind of a shame, I'd have loved Spider-Man to be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe fold.

You never know, it might find it's stride by the time the second film is released.

This is obviously good news, yet bad news. While it does mean we'll get to see Spider-Man hit the big screen every other year for a while, it does also entail Spider-Man's exclusion from entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe probably until 2025 at this rate, and that's if they stop with the fourth. However, this could work to an advantage. With some of Marvel's safer properties being pumped out by external studios, it does give us more of an opportunity to see lesser known heroes, like the proposed Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man films.

The Descendants; she's Clooney's daughter. She portrayed her role quite well, actually.
