Default Is the Wii really that hard to find?

I really have no interest in the wii b/ecause I would only like a couple games that I would play for an hour or two. (not a big gamer) Is it really that hard to find? I see one in about every other store I go into, which I don't know about everyone else, but in a 20 mile radius there are atleast 12 stores that carry wii's. I know there are more PS3's, but how can people not find them. When I went into best buy even for that Thanksgiving sale thing people where saying they're all gone until christmas, but I must have saw about ten stacked up like a pyramid, and this was around 10:00 when everything good has been gone for an hour. Is it really that hard to find in your areas?

They are here. I'm in Ohio. It seems like as soon as a store gets them there are people waiting on them and POOF, they are sold out. I never see them in the stores.

Once you finally find one and buy it...Its not that cool anymore....I think the actual hunt for the wii is what makes people like it...Once you get it tho...You wish you had a ps3 or xbox 360..the thing has weak graphics....online is horrible...cant even play standard dvds...But hey whatever floats your boat...I just hope i dont see you on here in a couple months in a thread saying will trade wii for blu ray movies...or a ps3...lol...and yes i have seen that thread a couple times...

Maybe you're just seeing empty boxes as displays. This is especially true in Gamestops.

I don't care, I don't want a WII, especially with all the SD graphics it has, what is the point of releasing a next gen system with no HD capability? Besides I am not a big gamer anyway. I usually buy a game and play it a couple of times and then most like never again.

Yes we have those empty boxes for the wii but if you look closely at the box there is no way that it could be the actual thing. and besides at gamestop we put those boxes in places in the store where it makes it obvious that its not the really thing or at least thats how it is at my store. and the wiis usually sell out so fast that not even i can grab one on time because they usually go in like 10 minutes or less its ridiculous. and all gamestop stores get their shipment of wiis at the same time or at least for that area and usually we get like approximately 6 copies of the wii once a week. but with the wii controlls and the ps3 sixaxis i prefer sixaxis anyday

I agree with you somewhat. It seems contradictoray but since they target a different demographic its really a non issue. That and they beat the hell out of ps3 and xbox360 sales wise month in and month out for years so i guess they know what they are doing right?

no matter what the wiis graphics couldve been better...i mean just like a blu ray version...a cartoon usually is going to look good....But anything lifelike would suck on wiis graphics....and why would they have a online that sucks...and you cant even play a dvd....i mean yea some say its all about the gaming....but its nice to have a dvd or something to play sometimes....and if its about the gaming...why are the graphics also garbage???

The graphics are ps1 graphics....even the audio on the games is horrible....
swiging the controller and nunchuck was cool for about 2 days...then i sold it on ebay for double the price..

what they are doing right is directing the games more towards the little kids and kids who just turn into a teenager and thats why Super Smash Bros. Brawl is selling so well and Super Mario Galaxy

As a gamer, Super Mario Galaxy is one of the most fun games I've ever played, and one of the best looking. I'm even using the RCA cables int he box!

The novelty behind SSBM is fun, but I don't find it that great of a competitive game. Maybe once we, as players, go deeper into the complexities of the game will it stand out. However, all the Wii haters/PS3 fanboys are right- the Wii's online support is god ****ing awful. They could not have done worse.

Wii is great if you just must play the current licenses available for it- Metroid, Kart, Zelda, Mario, etc... If you're not into those games, nothing is going to make you love the Wii.

You just have to know where to look. I've been in stores when they're just getting there a few times.

Up until last, week, they were impossible to find anywhere around here... I'm pretty sure a fairly large shipment came in last weekend though, as i've seen them at Walmart now and yesterday BestBuy here had about 12 of them in stock. I'm thinking maybe Nintendo is finally meeting demand.

but dont forget a lot of those people dont play them anymore that have played them since the beginning like with the NES and so on and so basically its now a new generation playing those games and some of the people who have played it since they were little but just saying they are kid-friendly and a lot of adults like that for their kids

I had no problem getting one and got Twilight Princess thrown in for free. The only reason I bought one was so I could play my Gamecube games (my Gamecube died). As most people seem to rave about the thing I thought I'd try one of these instead of getting another old Gamecube. Initial impressions were 'meh' but I can see the appeal for less hardcore gamers that aren't that bothered about hi-def graphics. As far as I'm concerned it's way overpriced for what it is and there is far too much shovelware being released for it. But it can be fun with a few people and alcohol

The most telling thing for me was that my parents visited and I though I'd show them my new toy. When my mother saw it in action she commented 'that looks rubbish'. And this is from someone who has no interest in games, consoles or even most things of a technological nature (although I did get her to play Pain on my PS3). Nintendo really should have made more effort with the graphics in my opinion. They didn't need to go 1080p like the PS3 but would it have been to much to ask for an improvement on the Gamecube? Especially for the amount it costs.

the main cost for the wii is the extra stuff inside like the remote and nunchuck controller with it. and plus you get those few little sports games. but i hear ya if it were like $150 or maybe $200 it will be more worth it but not $250

Nope it's not hard to find at all, it's right there in front of me on my table right now as I'm writing these lines, so I don't know what you are talking about
