Denon DVD-3800DBCi will not play AVS BD

I bought some calibration equipment that included a Blu-ray AVS HD calibration disc. The supplier has assured me that it has played in all Blu-ray players. However, it will not load and play on my above player.


Comments?

I had thought that this expensive player would have no problems playing this disc. So now I have no HD pattern disc to use with the calibration equipment.

Am I doing something wrong here?

You mentioned AVS HD calibration disc ... is this a burned, rather than pressed, disc? It could be that the Denon doesn't support that specific disc format.

The AVS HD disc was supplied by SpectraCal as part of their calibration package. I am sure it was a burnt disc. It seems to me that most of the Blu-ray players even the high end ones do not read AVS HD yet people still supply that format.

How to convert it to read on the Denon?

It sounds like the player isn't compatible with the format that was used for that disc. Looking at AVS there appears to be three different formats available, HDMV, AVCHD, and MP4.
