It's a good idea, but almost all anime-related discussion ends up in the following thread:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=101899

Don't worry, no one will get upset if you start talking about new anime on that thread, regardless if it is coming to BD or not.

Has anyone heard about the new Sailor Moon anime series that is suppose to be airing this summer? I heard that it is going to be more like Dragon Ball Z Kai and follow more closely to the manga with should be interesting. Kinda makes me wonder are they going to air this on Adult Swim or are they going to stick in on another network

But that's anime on Blu-ray disk, and this's the Television forum--
Where do we discuss anime available on streaming?

(Unless you're still watching (snicker!) Cartoon Network , but most of the good anime discussions know where to find their Hulu and Crunchyroll apps on their streaming box/consoles.)

I hope the US gets a complete release. I have all DVD releases except the dub Sailor Moon which I might pick up for nostalgic purposes as that was my first introduction to SM. I wish we had Stars as a US release though I can't figure out why they
[Show spoiler]wanted them turn into boys when they sing and then back to girls when they transform

I've always been tempted to get the Japanese release of Stars to complete it though sometimes I also want to get the LaserDisc versions to get the bonus stuff that doesn't seem to be on the DVDs.

Okay, show of hands, anyone else who was able to track down the English dub of "Nodame Cantabile" on Crackle.com's site.
(Which would be appearing on other sites, but was an exclusive Sony acquisition, and therefore chained to Crackle, but rights issues are unfortunately keeping it and the dub off of disk and only on the streaming site that nobody ever watches anyway.)

...Darn, what a great show.

The television sub-forum gets much less traffic and page views than the main Blu-ray forum. A certain percentage of the forum's membership is not even aware of its existence. It is where threads go to die.

I remember when the single dvd releases were out and I wish at the time I would have bought them because with them being OOP now they are really expensive to get but perhaps when the new series has been out awhile they will do an Anniversary release possibly on blu-ray of the original series with the English Dub. I am keeping my fingers crossed at least that they may happen, but I still don't want to get my hopes up too high.

A year or so ago now I bought a boxset that had Seasons 1-4 on them and Season 1 & 2 were completely in japanese which I wasn't not happy about. I was hoping that it would have a English option but it didn't.

there wasn't any English subtitle for 1 and 2? that almost sounds like a bootleg

Actually, there were. They were released by ADV, but they were pretty limited and they're very hard to find/expensive these days, especially since the show is still fairly popular among older anime fans and all of the DVDs have been out of print for years. I remember seeing these at a local Best Buy years ago, kinda wish I had, but oh well.

Season 1

Season 2

i have those sets as well as 3 movies S and Super S on DVD. I would like to add possibly the Japanese LDs and or DVDs of all including Stars. Also would like the old DIC dub I heard when I was a kid in the early 90s watching TV.

I thought she meant only Japanese not with subtitles which is what SM and SMR are from ADV except for the indivual releases using the old DIC dub that is rare.

Sorry, I thought I was clear in my words but I guess I wasn't. Yeah, it did have subtitles, but I am not a fan of watching anime with subtitles because sometimes that they go too fast and I have to keep pausing the dvd to read them. I prefer the English Dub with anime shows.

I would love to have the DiC dub as well as it was the original one that I heard back in the 90's when I watched on TV. THough they are way too expensive and it take forever to get them all, not to mention A LOT of money that I don't have to do it too.
