Default my response from sonystyle

I was seeing if any tv's can directly accept a 1080p source/image no up converting to do so here is the response:

Thank you for contacting Sony Online Support.

We understand that you want to know whether your television KDS-60A2020
accept and display a 1080p signal.

We like to inform you that no Sony TV has capability of accepting this
1080p signals input as there is no input jack available on TV which
supports direct 1080p signals. However, your TV has ability to display the
signals or picture at 1080p as your TV has a native resolution of
1080p. so, you can connect your TV with Blu-ray Player after making setting
adjustment without any problem.

We hope this information is helpful to you. If you need further
assistance, feel
free to contact us. We will be glad to assist you.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of assistance.

The new Samsung line up tvs with 1500 contrast ratio supports hidmi 1.3 here is the link to it http://samsung.com/Products/TV/LCDTV...4665_final.pdf, but it doesn't support 24hz, it does have a usb connection that will be able to upgrade the tv, maybe that will be one of the upgrades. Hope this helps.

The question is too broad to get a specific answer, I agree with the previous post.

I'm pretty sure the SXRD and new Bravia's have hdmi 1.3. They sort of made these TVs to show BD off.

Also, I'm a HUGE TOOL FAN.

All I know is when a 1080p24 (direct source) signal from a Pioneer Elite BD player is interfaced with a 40"XBR2, 46" XBR2, 60"XBR2, 70"XBR2, 40"XBR3, 46"XBR3, or 52"XBR3 display, the movie plays and the player still says it's playing directly from the source. I have witnessed this. Actually, I set up the tests in December. Why it displays a picture is beyond me, but I know it does it.

did you email sonystyle.com directly???? because i work there and who ever wrote that is just flat out dumb. because all sxrd's are 1080p native, the xbr's upscale your analog signals. the only sxrd that couldnt accept a 1080p signal was the first gen sxrd xbrs. what they did was down scale a 1080p to 1080i then the wega engine would scale it back up to 1080p, but with all that it still didnt stop them from getting tv of the year in home theater mag.

As a matter of fact, at Tweeter/HiFi Buys, I had the Pioneer Elite BD player (set for source) connected to a 46" XBR3 before management said it should be hooked up to the 50" 1080p Pioneer Elite. I was switching back and forth between 1080p60 and 1080p24 to see if I could see a difference. That's when I got the idea to test it on other new Sony units in the store (cause I wanted to know which one could do the most).

They all displayed the movie from a 1080p/24 signal source from the Pioneer Elite BD player. The picture quality on the LCDs (XBR2s and XBR3s) were equally beautiful. The LCoS (RPTV...60" and 70" XBR2s) pictures were smoother, but not quite as bright and vibrant as the LCDs. Of course, the LCD screens were smaller (and the light source is a lot closer to the screen), so that should be expected. These TVs weren't ISF calibrated. Well, you see the one I ended up with. Clearly I must be compensating for something.

Yeah I e-mailed sonystyle directly I was wondering why they have that full 1080 stickers on the tvs' Looks like if that's the case I'll be getting an sxrd sometime. I was just waiting till I could confirm what tvs' can accept a 1080p source without having to up scale and get a little more money together. Thanks for the help.
