Default PS4 controller question

Hey all,

Im thinking of coming over the fence. Long time xbox player thinking of going ps4 this round (least at first) due to what seems a better value for the money. Have a question though. What do you guys think of the new dual shock controller?

I had a ps2 way back in the day and thought the controller was kinda meh, loved the xbox s then the 360 controller feel more natual to my hands, but im liking the look of the new DS. Thoughts or opinions if any would be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't used it (and preferred the 360 controller this generation), but there's this opinion:

What people like or dislike in a video game controller is often subjective; our hands come in many sizes and shapes, and what feels comfortable to me may be intolerable for you across lengthy playing sections. There is no perfect controller, as everyone is looking for slightly different things in how they control their games.

That being said, the PlayStation 4 controller may be the best thing since sliced bread.
That's just the opening paragraph FYI.

I know when I switched from an Xbox to a PS3 the Dual Shock controller would make my hands cramp up but as I got used to it now it feels great. One thing nice about the dual shock controller is games like the Metal Gear Solid Series still for the most part control the same as the original.

There are websites where you can get an Xbox 360 style controller for the PS3, I'm sure companies will have something similar a litte while after the PS4 comes out.

I always liked the PS controllers. They fit well with my hand.
The best advice I guess I can give is just play with both styles for a few hours nonstop and see what works best for you.

My biggest - and only real - complaint with the 360 controller is the D-pad. It's horrendous.
Trying pulling out some massive combos on the 360 controller versus the PS3 pad, and you might understand what I'm talking about.
It just seems the d-pad is way too "mushy" and less specific than the PS3 controllers.

I played over 200 hours of SFIV on the PS3, tried it for about 5 hours on the 360 but couldn't handle the d-pad's lack of accuracy.
