TT discs aren't available for pre-order until about 3.5 weeks before the release date

Oh wow didn't know this was releasing, I love this film.

Sucks though cause I think TT releases are like $30 no? Going to have to see about getting this one though.

Great film, worthy of unlimited repeat viewings!
I don't even remember what movie Broadbent won for. Kingsley was robbed. It would have been supremely awesome if he had Oscars for portraying both Gandhi AND Don Logan.

Can't wait to see Sexy Beast for the first time on Blu-ray!!

Broadbent won for Iris, but I think he got the Oscar because of a trifecta of solid supporting turns in 2001. Iris, Bridget Jones's Diary, and especially Moulin Rouge IMO.

Pre-order date: Wednesday, July 24th, 2013 at 4 pm EST.

The film will be presented in both 2.35:1 and 1.78:1 ratios, and the extras include an isolated score track, production featurette, and an audio commentary with Sir Ben Kingsley and Jeremy Thomas.

Which is exactly what I've been doing the last few months via Netflix. And, it's in HD.

Really pleased about the aspect ratio. I only ever saw this in 2:35.1. so the opened out frame never really looked right to me. Definite purchase for me. Love this film, been waiting for a decent release for ages.

How does this film rank to either British crime films? I.E. Lock, Stock, and Two Smokin' Barrels.

I couldn't get through that film, it was unbearable, in my opinion (though I haven't tried to rewatch it in several years).

Thanks for posting the Pre-order date, mate!
The cover art will do; certainly better than the floating heads seen in previous releases.
Both aspect ratios!? That's unexpected. Definitely getting this.

Firstly, let it be known I'm not an authority on British crime dramas.
With that said, Guy Richie's films seem a little more style over substance, IMO of course.
I don't dislike his films, but I don't buy into them with the same fervor others seem to.

To me, Sexy Beast is one of the better crime/heist films I've seen; the performances are top notch and has just the right balance of style and substance. The characters aren't contrived and they don't set out to overly-complicate the story as a means to cover up some lack of intelligence elsewhere in the movie. Although, there are some scenes involving a gun-wielding hell rabbit humanoid that might strike most viewers as a bit puzzling.

I'd recommend a rental or get the DVD used for super-cheap. Amazon Prime users can stream it for free, so that's an alternative to consider if you have an account with them.

This film has always stuck with me through the years. Ben Kingsley gives one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. I will definately retire my old DVD.

And let's not forget Ian McShane. He went totally the other way, with a very subtle yet memorable performance. That all-knowing grin of a Cheshire cat about to eat a rat.

Lock, Stock is a Guy Ritchie Mockney crime comedy while Sexy Beast is as much a love story as it is crime film. Not many laughs in it but plenty of good quality acting from the entire cast, not just Ben Kingsley. Stylish visuals and music as well. Jonathan Glazer hasn't exactly been a prolific director since, Birth is flawed but worth a look and he has one in post production at the moment, Under The Skin, a sci-fi film adapted from Michael Faber's novel and starring Scarlett Johansson.

And let's not forget that awesome score. I love the part where Don is arriving from the airport. You could cut the tension with a knife!

So since this presents two different aspect ratios, is this a one or two disc offereing?
